2020 Interport T20I Series
The Hong Kong cricket team toured Malaysia in February 2020 to play a five-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series, known as the Interport T20 Series. All the matches were played at the Kinrara Academy Oval, Kuala Lumpur. The series marked the return of the 154-year-old tradition of contests known as 'Interport' matches, a term historically used to refer to matches played between various British settlements in Southeast Asia, such as Hong Kong and Malaysia (and the Malay states that preceded Malaysia). The series was originally scheduled to be played at the Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok, Hong Kong, but was cancelled in early February due to the coronavirus pandemic in China. Malaysia won the first three matches to give them an unassailable lead in the series. The hosts went on to sweep the series 5–0. Ahmad Faiz
Ahmad Faiz (born 12 February 1988) is a Malaysian cricketer who captains the Malaysia national cricket team. He was part of Malaysia's squad for the 2008 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He played in the 2014 ICC World Cricket League Division Three tournament. He was a member of the Malaysian cricket team which won the gold medal in the men's 50 overs tournament after defeating Singapore by 251 runs in the finals at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games. In April 2018, he was named in Malaysia's squad for the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Four tournament, also in Malaysia. 2020 Asia Cup
The Asian Cricket Council Asia Cup is a men's One Day International and Twenty20 International cricket tournament. It was established in 1983 when the Asian Cricket Council was founded as a measure to promote goodwill between Asian countries. It was originally scheduled to be held every two years. The Asia Cup is the only continental championship in cricket and the winning team becomes the champions of Asia. It alternates every 2-years between ODI and T20I formats. The first Asia Cup was held in 1984 in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates where the council's offices were based (until 1995). India boycotted the 1986 tournament due to strained cricketing relations with Sri Lanka. Pakistan boycotted the 1990–91 tournament due to strained political relations with India and the 1993 tournament was cancelled for the same reason. Haroon Arshad (born 6 September 1999) is a Hong Kong cricketer. He made his first-class debut for Hong Kong in the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup on 20 October 2017. The captain of a cricket team, often referred to as the skipper, is the appointed leader, having several additional roles and responsibilities over and above those of the other players.
