2020 Intercontinental GT Challenge
The 2020 Intercontinental GT Challenge was the fifth season of the Intercontinental GT Challenge. The season again features five rounds, starting with the Bathurst 12 Hour, Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour on 2 February and concluding with the Kyalami 9 Hours on 12 December. Dennis Olsen (racing driver), Dennis Olsen is the defending Drivers' champion and Porsche is the defending Manufacturers' champion. Calendar At the annual press conference during the 2019 24 Hours of Spa on 26 July, the Stéphane Ratel Organisation announced the first draft of the 2020 calendar. The only change from 2019 Intercontinental GT Challenge, 2019 was the North American round moving from Laguna Seca Raceway to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, primarily because of event permit restrictions at Laguna Seca (which is owned by the local government). Intercontinental GT Challenge
The Intercontinental GT Challenge is a sports car racing series developed by the Stéphane Ratel Organisation, SRO Group in 2016. It consists of international Endurance racing (motorsport), endurance races for grand tourer racing cars complying with the FIA's Group GT3, GT3 regulations. Format The series is aimed at manufacturers. Instead of fielding their own cars, manufacturers can appoint and support local teams in selected events to gain points. Four manufacturers took part in the inaugural series in 2016 Intercontinental GT Challenge, 2016: Audi, Bentley, McLaren Automotive, McLaren and Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes. Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit (from ''Khaya lami'', ''My home'' in Zulu language, Zulu) is a motor racing circuit located in Midrand, Gauteng, South Africa, just north of Johannesburg. 2020 24 Hours Of Spa
The 2020 24 Hours of Spa (also known as Total 24 Hours of Spa for sponsorship reasons) was the 73rd running of the 24 Hours of Spa. It took place on 22–25 October 2020. Although it was previously scheduled to held on 25–26 July, it was announced on 15 April that the race would be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was previously scheduled to held on 25–26 July, but in March the race was postponed to October due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This will be the first time that the race will be held in October. The race was set to be unique as it would run for a 25 hours duration due to the race being held on the weekend when the clocks change. The 24 Hours of Spa is an endurance racing event for cars held annually since 1924 at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Stavelot, Belgium. It is currently sponsored by CrowdStrike. 2020 Indianapolis 8 Hours
The 2020 Indianapolis 8 Hours was an endurance race held on 4 October 2020 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, in Indiana, United States. The event was open to cars in GT classes, namely GT3 and GT4. It was the inaugural running of the Indianapolis 8 Hour, replacing the previous American leg of the Intercontinental GT Challenge, the California 8 Hours held at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. It was the second leg of the 2020 Intercontinental GT Challenge and the sixth and final round of the 2020 GT World Challenge America.
