2020 Inter Miami CF Season
The 2020 Inter Miami CF season was the first season in the history of Inter Miami and the 17th season of first-division club soccer in South Florida. It was the first time since 2001 that a South Florida club competed in the first-division. In addition to playing in Major League Soccer, the club was scheduled to participate in the U.S. Open Cup but the competition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami, known as Inter Miami CF or simply Inter Miami, is an American professional soccer club based in the Miami metropolitan area. Established in 2018, the club began play in Major League Soccer (MLS) in the 2020 season. Alvas Elvis Powell (born 18 July 1994) is a Jamaican professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Major League Soccer club FC Cincinnati. A native of the parish St. Thomas, he attended Paul Bogle High School and gained recognition in the Da Costa Cup competition. Luis Angel Robles (born May 11, 1984) is an American former professional soccer player who played as a goalkeeper. Robles holds the MLS record for most consecutive regular-season starts with 183, spanning September 2012 to May 2018. Drake Steven Callender (born October 7, 1997) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for Major League Soccer club Inter Miami. Early life Callender played youth soccer with Cap FC United and Placer United, before going on to be part of the San Jose Earthquakes academy from 2013 to 2016. In 2016, Callendar began playing college soccer for the California Golden Bears. In four seasons, Callender made 54 appearances, keeping 16 clean sheets. The Tampa Bay Rowdies are an American professional soccer team based in St. Petersburg, Florida. The club was founded in 2008 and first took the pitch in 2010. John McCarthy (born July 4, 1992) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for Major League Soccer club Los Angeles FC.
