2019–20 Saudi Pro League
The 2019–20 Saudi Pro League was the 45th edition of the top-tier Saudi football league, established in 1974, and the 12th edition since it was rebranded as the Saudi Pro League in 2008. The season started on 22 August 2019 and concluded on 9 September 2020. Al-Nassr were the defending champions. The league was contested by the top 13 teams from the 2018–19 season as well as Abha, Damac, and Al-Adalah, who joined as the three promoted clubs from the 2018–19 Prince Mohammad bin Salman League. They replace Ohod, Al-Batin and Al-Qadsiah who were relegated to the 2019–20 Prince Mohammad bin Salman League. On 7 March 2020, the Ministry of Sports announced that all matches would be played behind closed doors until further notice. On 14 March 2020, the Ministry suspended all sports competitions indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Pro League (SPL), also known as the Roshn Saudi League (RSL) for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Saudi Arabia and the highest level of the Saudi football league system. The SPL is regarded as the premier football league in Asia, having the highest ranking among AFC club competitions. The origins of the Saudi top division league trace back to the establishment of the His Majesty's League in 1956, which lasted until 1974. Al Taawoun FC
Al Taawoun FC () is a professional multi-sports club based in Buraidah, Saudi Arabia. The football team competes in the Saudi Pro League, the top tier of Saudi Football. The club plays their home games at King Abdullah Sport City Stadium in Buraidah, sharing the stadium with city rivals Al-Raed, with whom they contest the Qassim Derby. Al Raed Saudi Football Club ( ''Nādī ar-Rāʾid''; ) is a Saudi football club based in Buraidah, and the first of its kind in the Qassim region of Saudi Arabia. Al Qadsiah FC
Al-Qadsiah () is a Saudi Arabian professional football club that competes in the Saudi Pro League. The team is based in the eastern city of Khobar and their home ground is the Prince Mohamed bin Fahd Stadium. History Al-Qadsiah have been a regular and uninterrupted participant in the Saudi Premier League since its inception in the inaugural 1976–77 season, their best ever top-flight season came in the 1980–81 season when they finished in 3rd place. Ohod Club () is a Saudi Arabian professional football club based in Medina, which competes in the Saudi First Division League. History Ohod was named after Mount Uhud, hence the nickname "Al-Jabal". The 2018–19 Prince Mohammad bin Salman League was the second season of the Prince Mohammad bin Salman League under its current name, and 42nd season of the Saudi First Division since its establishment in 1976. Abha Club
Abha Football Club () is a professional Saudi football club based in Abha that is currently playing in the Saudi First Division League, the second tier of Saudi football. They were first promoted to the top flight in 2005 when they finished as runners up in the First Division. However, they were relegated after just one season.
