2019–20 Perth Glory FC Season
The 2019–20 Perth Glory FC season was the club's 23rd season since its establishment in 1996. The club participated in the A-League for the 15th time, the FFA Cup for the sixth time and the AFC Champions League for the first time. On 24 March 2020, the FFA announced that the 2019–20 A-League season would be postponed until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia and New Zealand, and subsequently extended indefinitely. The season resumed on 17 July 2020. Similarly, the 2020 AFC Champions League competition has been suspended until at least mid-September 2020 in West Zone. The AFC Executive Committee agreed to played AFC Champions League East Zone matches which are now scheduled to be played between November 15 and December 13, 2020 in Qatar. Antony William Paul Sage, known as Tony Sage (born 26 June 1960), is a Western Australian businessman who is also notable for owning A-League football club Perth Glory. Biography Born in Gloucester, England, on 26 June 1960, Sage moved with his parents to Australia in 1969, residing first in Adelaide, then Melbourne and Sydney before again moving to New Zealand with his mother and father in 1975. In 1978, he went to Western Australia and enrolled at Churchlands College (now part of the Edith Cowan University) in Perth. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business (Accounting and Finance) in 1980. A-League Men (known as the Isuzu UTE A-League for sponsorship reasons) is the highest-level professional men's soccer league in Australia and New Zealand. At the top of the Australian league system, it is the country's premier men's competition for the sport. A-League Men was established in 2004 as the A-League by the Football Federation Australia (FFA) as a successor to the National Soccer League (NSL) and competition commenced in August 2005. Osama "Ozzie" Malik ( ar, أسامة ملك ; born 30 September 1990) is an Australian professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder or centre-back for Indian Super League club Odisha. James Gregory Meredith (born 5 April 1988) is a retired Australian soccer player who played as a left back English Football League clubs Chesterfield, Shrewsbury Town, Bradford City and Millwall and for A-League Men clubs Perth Glory and Macarthur FC. Dino Djulbic (born 16 February 1983) is a former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. Born in the former SFR Yugoslavia, he made two appearances for the Australia national team.
