2019–20 Estudiantes De La Plata Season
The 2019–20 season is Estudiantes' 26th consecutive season in the top division of Argentine football. In addition to the Primera División, the club are competing in the Copa Argentina and Copa de la Superliga. The season generally covers the period from 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020. Review Pre-season Three players agreed departures from Estudiantes in June 2019, with Ezequiel Miranda heading to Deportivo Paraguayo while Nicolás Talpone and Fernando Evangelista joined Atlanta and Aldosivi respectively. Daniel Sappa and Gastón Gil Romero were both loaned out, to Arsenal de Sarandí and Aldosivi, on 24 June - the former having an optional six-month recall clause. Carlo Lattanzio completed a loan move to Estudiantes' Caseros namesakes on 27 June. On that same day, the club announced a transfer agreement had been reached with Godoy Cruz for midfielder Ángel González; subject to contract terms and a medical. ( lit. "La Plata Students"), simply referred to as Estudiantes de La Plata, is an Argentine professional sports club based in La Plata. The club's football team currently competes in the Primera División, where it has spent most of its history. The club is a successful team in Argentina. In 1967, Estudiantes was the first team outside the traditional " big five" to win a professional league title. It has won four additional league titles and has had greater international success, having won six international titles. Estudiantes' international title championships are four Copa Libertadores (including three straight from 1968 to 1970), an Intercontinental Cup, and an Interamerican Cup. The club was founded in 1905 when a group of players and fans decided to break away from Gimnasia de La Plata, which favored indoor sport rather than football.
