2019–20 Dhivehi Premier League
The 2019–20 Dhivehi Premier League was the fifth season of the Dhivehi Premier League, the top-tier football league in the Maldives. The season started on 14 June 2019. TC Sports are the defending champions. Maziya secured the league title on 19 January 2020. Since New Radiant Sports Club and Victory Sports Club both teams are suspended, they are relegated to the Second Division Football Tournament. Teams A total of nine teams compete in the league. Fehendhoo and Thimarafushi were relegated from the previous season, and were replaced by 2019 Malé League qualification winner United Victory and 2018 Second Division champion Da Grande Sports Club. Thimarafushi Sports Club
The island of Thimarafushi (Dhivehi: ތިމަރަފުށި), (pronounced "thi-ma-ra-fu-shi") is one of the inhabited islands of the Maldives. Geography The island is south of the country's capital, Malé. The island is geographically located in the Thaa Atoll, which is also known as the Kolhumadulu Atoll. Demography The island has a recorded population of 4253 people as of July 2013. Women The number of women in the island is comparatively small compared to the population of males. The number of females under 18 years of age was 422. While the age group of 18-65 comprised 611 women, the elderly females numbered 46. Therefore, the total population of females in the island is 1934. Men Statistical records as of June 2006 showed that the number of boys (aged below 18) was 520. The adult male population (18-65) was 745, and the male senior citizens (65+) were 64. Nilandhoo (Faafu Atoll)
Nilandhoo ( Dhivehi: ނިލަންދޫ) is the capital of Faafu Atoll, a region with five inhabited islands. It is the largest and most populated island in the region, and includes historical sites such as foah'mathi and Aasaari Miskiy and a school. Faafu Atoll (also known as Northern Nilandhe Atoll or Nilandhe Atholhu Uthuruburi) is an administrative division of the Maldives. It corresponds to the natural atoll of the same name. Certain islands of this atoll used to be inhabited, like Himithi. The islanders were resettled in other islands so that Friday prayers could be held. Club Green Streets
Club Green Streets is a professional football club based in Malé, Maldives that competes in the Dhivehi Premier League, the top flight of Maldivian football. The club was founded in 2010, starting in the third division, and earned promotion to the 2nd division as the runners up in 2012. They later earned promotion to the first division in 2016 after an unbeaten season. The club and its head coach Sobah Mohamed has mutually decided to continue their journey further by taking on the club's latest and biggest challenge since its inception. The club was established in the hopes of uniting the youth of Machangolhi through the power of football.
