2019–20 Bermudian Premier Division
The 2019–20 Bermudian Premier Division is the 57th season of the Bermudian Premier Division, the highest tier of football in Bermuda. The season began on 21 September 2019 and was scheduled to conclude on 22 March 2020. However, the final round was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 27 May, the final round was cancelled and all remaining matches were awarded as 0-0 draws. Bermudian Premier Division
The Bermudian Premier Division (officially the Digicel Premier Division for sponsorship reasons) is the highest level of professional football in Bermuda. Teams in this league (currently ten) compete for the national title and theoretically can claim a spot in the CONCACAF Caribbean Club Shield, although there has not yet been a Bermudian entry. The Bermudian clubs who participated in CONCACAF Champions' Cup (the predecessor to the CONCACAF Champions League), qualified in the North American zone (when zone qualifiers were used), last appearing in 1992. The bottom two teams at the end of each season are relegated to the First Division. Tre Ming
Wendell Tre' Ming (born 11 April 1994), commonly known as Tre Ming, is a Bermudian professional footballer who currently plays for Bermudian Premier Division side PHC Zebras. College career Ming began his college career with South Kent in Connecticut, where he scored 8 goals in his junior year and set a South Kent record for assists in a season. While at the school, he received sponsorship money to go on trial with then-Premier League side Fulham, having spent time on trial with them and Portsmouth the previous year. He enrolled at the Elmira College in 2012, and spent one year there, notching up 20 appearances and 4 goals. He was named Empire 8 Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year for his performances. Lejuan Simmons
Lejaun Perry Simmons (born 7 April 1993) is a striker who plays for Robin Hood and the Bermuda national football team. Career Lejaun Simmons started his career at major Bermudian side Devonshire Cougars, being in the youth team for 2 years before being promoted to the first team in 2011. In 2013 he began training with Ilkeston, after the English club developed a link-up with Bermuda Hogges in order to create a pathway to professional football for promising Bermudian players. During the 2013–14 season he made seven appearances for the club (six in the league), and also had loan spells with Mickleover Sports and Long Eaton United. He was still with the club in December 2014, however he did not make any appearances during the 2014–15 season. He had left the club by December 2015, returning to Bermuda with Robin Hood. Bermuda First Division
The Bermuda First Division is the second level of professional Association football, football in Bermuda. The competition had nine participants in the 2019/2020 season. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as happened in the first division, the last round of the competition was cancelled. The 0–0 score was recorded in all games in the round. The title of champion of the 2019–20 season was shared between the Devonshire Colts F.C. and Saint George's Colts F.C. teams, who finished the competition with the same score and goal difference. The two teams also gained access to the Bermudian Premier Division. Southampton Parish, Bermuda
Southampton Parish is one of the nine parishes of Bermuda. It is named for Henry Wriothesley, 3rd Earl of Southampton (1573-1624). It is located in the southwest of the island chain, occupying all of the western part of the main island, except for the westernmost tip (which is part of Sandys Parish). It includes the chain's southernmost point, and its north coast comprises much of the coast of the Little Sound (an arm of the Great Sound, the large expanse of water which dominates the geography of western Bermuda). in the east it is joined to Warwick Parish. White Hill Field is a cricket ground in Sandys Parish, Bermuda. In June 2019, it was named as one of the two venues to host cricket matches for Bermuda's Twenty20 series against the Bahamas, and the Regional Finals of the 2018–19 ICC T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier tournament. Sandys Parish ( "sands") is one of the nine parishes of Bermuda. It is named for English aristocrat Sir Edwin Sandys (1561–1629), and hence there is no apostrophe in the name. It is located in the south west of the island chain, occupying the three islands of Ireland Island, Boaz Island, and the larger Somerset Island, as well as a small part of the main island of Bermuda. Warwick Parish is one of the nine parishes of Bermuda. It is named after Robert Rich, 2nd Earl of Warwick (1587-1658). Devonshire Parish is one of the nine parishes of Bermuda. Originally named ''Cavendish Tribe'' and later Devonshire Tribe, for William Cavendish, 1st Earl of Devonshire (1552–1626). ''Devonshire Redoubt'', on Castle Island, one of the Castle Harbour fortifications of St. George's Parish, was also named after him. Pembroke Parish, Bermuda
Pembroke Parish is one of the nine parishes of Bermuda. It is named after English aristocrat William Herbert, 3rd Earl of Pembroke (1580–1630). It occupies most of the short peninsula which juts from the central north coast of Bermuda's main island, and surrounds the city of Hamilton on three sides (the fourth being taken up by the shore of Hamilton Harbour). As such, its shape bears some passing resemblance to the county of Pembrokeshire in Wales.
