2019 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational
The 2019 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational was a professional golf tournament held July at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee. It was the 21st WGC Invitational tournament, and the third of the World Golf Championships events in 2019. It was the first time the event had been held in Tennessee, having previously been based at Firestone Country Club in Ohio. World number one, Brooks Koepka, completed a three-stroke victory over Webb Simpson to win his first World Golf Championship event. Koepka had begun the final day one shot behind Rory McIlroy, who led the field. With the win, Koepka earned more PGA Tour regular season FedEx Cup points than any other player and won first-place prize of $2 million in the Wyndham Rewards Top 10. Ron Prichard
Ron Prichard (born 1945 or 1946) is an American golf course designer and restorer. His original designs include the TPC at Southwind, Memphis, Tennessee, now home of the FedEx St. Jude Classic. However, he is perhaps better known for masterminding the restoration of courses originally created by the Scottish-American designer Donald Ross (1872 – 1948), among them Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Township, Pennsylvania. Career Prichard decided on his career path while in college. "I'd ask myself back then what I wanted to be doing when I was 50," he recalled to one interviewer. "And the answer was a golf architect. Tyrrell Glen Hatton (born 14 October 1991) is an English professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and the PGA Tour. 2018 Ryder Cup
The 42nd Ryder Cup Matches were held in France from 28 to 30 September 2018 on the Albatros Course of Le Golf National in Guyancourt, a suburb southwest of Paris. It was the second Ryder Cup to be held in Continental Europe (rather than Great Britain or Ireland), after the 1997 contest, which was held in Spain. Official World Golf Ranking
The Official World Golf Ranking is a system for rating the performance level of professional golfers. It was started in 1986. The rankings are based on a player's position in individual tournaments (i.e. not pairs or team events) over a "rolling" two-year period. New rankings are calculated each week. During 2018, nearly 400 tournaments on 20 tours were covered by the ranking system. All players competing in these tournaments are included in the rankings. In 2022, 23 tours factored into the world rankings. As well as being of general interest, the rankings have an additional importance, in that they are used as one of the qualifying criteria for entry into a number of leading tournaments.
