2019 Tour Of Rwanda
The 2019 Tour du Rwanda was a road cycling stage race that took place between 24 February and 3 March 2019. The race was rated as a 2.1 event as part of the 2019 UCI Africa Tour, and was the 22nd edition of the Tour du Rwanda. Teams Seventeen teams started the race. 2019 UCI Africa Tour
The 2018 UCI Africa Tour was the 15th season of the UCI Africa Tour. The season began on 26 October 2018 with the Tour du Faso and ended on 20 October 2019. The points leader, based on the cumulative results of previous races, wears the UCI Africa Tour cycling jersey. Throughout the season, points are awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determines how many points are awarded to the top finishers: the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points are awarded. Przemysław Kasperkiewicz (born 1 March 1994) is a Polish racing cyclist, who most recently rode for French amateur team in 2021. Career Early years Kasperkiewicz took up cycling at a very early age and competed in track and road cycling with a local club – KTK Kalisz. He showed a lot of promise as a junior rider, winning medals and national titles on the track and taking 2nd in the international junior race, the Tour de la Région de Lódz. Biniam Girmay Hailu (born 2 April 2000) is a professional Eritrean road cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . At the 2022 Giro d'Italia, he became the first Black African cyclist to win a Grand Tour stage after winning stage 10 in a reduced bunch sprint. Career After discovering cycling through his cousin Meron Teshome, Girmay joined the World Cycling Centre in 2018 for his second junior year. Ruhengeri
Ruhengeri, also known as Musanze or Muhoza, is a city and capital of Musanze District in the Northern Province of Rwanda. Karongi District
Karongi is a district (''akarere'') in Western Province, Rwanda. The capital being Rubengera, the district also contains Kibuye, the provincial capital and a major Rwandan lakeside resort. It is one of the districts with the least population density of as of 2012 census. Tourism Tourism is one of the main economic sectors of Karongi. Karongi's location near Lake Kivu, the beautiful scenery and its many islands are the main draws. There are many resort and hotels which have been built recently outside the town of Kibuye, most on the shores of Lake Kivu. One of the most popular islands to visit in Karongi is Napoleon Island; a large island which is popular for hiking and for viewing one of Africa's largest colonies of straw colored fruit bats which resides on the Island.
