Tajikistan First League
The Ligai Yakumi Tojikiston (Tajiki: ''Лигаи Якуми Тоҷикистон''), ( fa, لیگ دسته یک تاجیکستان), or Tajikistan First League is a football league in Tajikistan, the second level of importance after the Tajikistan Higher League. It is operated under the auspices of the Tajikistan Football League Organization and rebranded Tajikistan Football Federation. The Tajikistan First League was founded in 2004. According to previous reports, Tajikistan's First League was founded in 1992, as well as many "First Leagues" of other Post-Soviet countries. Format 12 clubs participate in the Tajikistan First League. The winner of the Tajikistan First League receives a ticket to the Tajikistan Higher League (The winner of the First League is allowed to participate in the Higher League after obtaining a license and fulfilling certain obligations. Isfara
Isfara ( tg, Исфара fa, اسفره; russian: Исфара) is a city in Sughd Region in northern Tajikistan, situated on the border with Kyrgyzstan. The city was the seat of the former Isfara District. There are currently territorial disputes between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan over the area of Isfara Valley. History The first author who mentions Esfara as a town, is Bābor. He praised the orchards and fruits of Isfara, especially its almonds. The 16th century saw the construction of large public buildings, notably mosques and medreseh. In the 18th century Isfara was the seat of the Khan of Ḵoqand whose wars with Bokhara resulted in the destruction of some historical monuments. The 2020 Ligai Olii Tojikiston ('' Tajik: 2020 Лигаи Олии Тоҷикистон''), ( fa, لیگ عالی تاجیکستان ۲۰۲۰), or 2020 Tajikistan Higher League is the 29th season of Ligai Olii Tojikiston, Tajikistan's top division of association football. The season began on 5 April 2020. Season events On 27 March, the Tajikistan Football Federation announced that the opening round of games would be played behind closed doors due to the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic. On 25 April, the Tajikistan Football Federation announced the suspension of football, following the completion of Round 4 on 26 April, until 10 May. Panjakent
Panjakent ( tg, Панҷакент), or Penjikent (russian: Пенджикент) is a city in the Sughd province of Tajikistan on the river Zeravshan, with a population of 52,500 (2020 estimate). It was once an ancient town in Sogdiana. The ruins of the old town are on the outskirts of the modern city. The Sarazm Important Bird Area lies downstream of the city on the tugay-vegetated floodplain of the river. Panj () is a city in southern Tajikistan which is situated on the Afghan border, some south of the capital Dushanbe. It is located along the north bank of the river Panj, from which it derives its name. The population of the town is 12,500 (January 2020 estimate).
