2019 Swope Park Rangers Season
The 2019 Swope Park Rangers season was the club's fourth year of play and their first season in the Eastern Conference of the newly renamed USL Championship, the top tier of United Soccer League. The second tier of the United States Soccer Pyramid. The Rangers continued to play at Children's Mercy Park after complications with Shawnee Mission District Stadium in Overland Park, Kansas. Previous season The 2018 Swope Park Rangers season finished the year with a record of 15-8-11 and 7th in the Western Conference qualifying for the 2018 USL Playoffs. In the first round, Swope Park defeated #2 seed Sacramento Republic 2–1. In the conference semi-finals, the Rangers lost to #3 Phoenix Rising 4–2. Swope Park Rangers
Sporting Kansas City II is a MLS Next Pro club affiliated with Sporting Kansas City of Major League Soccer. For the 2022 season they will play their home games at Rock Chalk Park at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas, as well as Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri. They were formerly known as the Swope Park Rangers. The club is headquartered alongside Sporting Kansas City at Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas. History On October 22, 2015, the team was officially announced as the USL's 30th franchise, as were the Swope Park Rangers name, color scheme and logo. The Rangers replaced Oklahoma City Energy FC as SKC's USL affiliate, and was named after a nickname for SKC reserve squad in 2008. Phoenix Rising Football Club is an American professional soccer team based in Phoenix, Arizona. Founded in 2014 as Arizona United Soccer Club, the team is a member of the USL Championship. William Opoku Mensah (born 3 January 1996) is a Ghanaian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Mukura Victory. Club career Opoku Mensah played for Sekondi Eleven Wise at youth level, prior to beginning his senior career with Karela United in 2015.
