2019 Surbiton Trophy
The 2019 Surbiton Trophy was a professional tennis tournament played on outdoor grass courts. It was the seventeenth and sixteenth editions of the tournament which was part of the 2019 ITF Women's World Tennis Tour and the 2019 ATP Challenger Tour. Grass Court
A grass court is one of the four different types of tennis court on which the sport of tennis, originally known as "lawn tennis", is played. Grass courts are made of grasses in different compositions depending on the tournament. Although grass courts are more traditional than other types of tennis courts, maintenance costs of grass courts are higher than those of hard courts and clay courts. Grass courts (in the absence of suitable covers) must be left for the day if rain appears, as the grass becomes very slippery when wet and will not dry for many hours. This is a disadvantage on outdoor courts compared to using hard and clay surfaces, where play can resume in 30 to 120 minutes after the end of rain. Jordan Thompson (born 20 April 1994) is an Australian professional tennis player, reaching a career-high ranking of World No. 43 on 15 July 2019. He made his Grand Slam debut at the 2014 Australian Open after winning the Australian Open wildcard play off on 15 December 2013. Lloyd Glasspool
Lloyd Glasspool (born 19 November 1993) is a British professional tennis player who specializes in doubles. He has a career-high doubles ranking of No. 12 (November 2022) and a career-high singles ranking of No. 282 (July 2016). In his career, Glasspool has won three ATP titles, 16 Futures titles (eleven in doubles and five in singles), and in 2021 four ATP Challenger tournaments, in doubles. Liam Broady
Liam Tarquin Broady (born 4 January 1994) is a tennis player and current British No. 6. In 2010, he won the Boys' Doubles at Wimbledon with Tom Farquharson, and the Boys' Doubles at the Australian Open with Joshua Ward-Hibbert, as well as reaching the Boys' Singles finals at Wimbledon 2011 and US Open 2012, peaking at No. 2 in the junior world rankings. Peter Polansky ( ; born June 15, 1988) is a Canadian professional tennis player of Czech origin. He was Canada's top singles player from June 21, 2010, until January 17, 2011, in the ATP rankings. Sergiy Eduardovych Stakhovsky ( uk, Сергій Едуардович Стаховський, ; born January 6, 1986) is a Ukrainian former professional tennis player. Brayden Schnur (born July 4, 1995) is a Canadian professional tennis player. Schnur reached a career-high ATP singles ranking of No. 92 in August 2019.
