Strømsgodset Toppfotball
Strømsgodset Toppfotball is a Norwegian professional association football, football club based in Gulskogen, Drammen, competing in the Eliteserien (football), Eliteserien. It is part of the multi-sports club Strømsgodset IF, founded on February 10, 1907. The football team rose to prominence in the late 1960s and early 1970s, led by young striker Steinar Pettersen and his teammates, known as the "Rødgata Boys" (named after their street in Drammen). They climbed from the fourth tier to the top flight in a few years, winning the Eliteserien, league title in 1970 and the Norwegian Football Cup, Norwegian Cup in 1969, 1970, and 1973. The following decades were challenging, with the club even dropping to the third tier in 1986. This setback marked a turning point, and they returned to the top flight in 1989. Mikkel Maigaard Jakobsen (born 20 September 1995) is a Danish professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Ekstraklasa club Cracovia. Martin Rønning Ovenstad (born 18 April 1994) is a former Norwegian footballer. Rønning Ovenstad made his debut for Mjøndalen in the 1–3 loss against Moss on 25 April 2010, just one week after his 16th birthday. Two years later, he signed for Strømsgodset, and made his debut in the 4–0 win against Hønefoss on 30 June 2012. He was part of the 2013 Tippeligaen title winning squad, playing 13 league matches. In July 2014, he was diagnosed with mononucleosis and was expected to miss the rest of the 2014 season.
