2019 Star Awards
Star Awards 2019 (also SA25, Chinese: 红星大奖25) is a television award ceremony which is held in Singapore. Star Awards 2019 marks the 25th anniversary, or Silver Jubilee, of the Star Awards since it was first awarded in 1994, hence subtitled ''Star Awards 25''. The theme for the ceremony is "The Moment", highlighting the best moments of the local television industries alongside Singapore's talents and audiences as well. This is also the first award ceremony to feature a vocalized version of the Awards' theme tune, titled 《星光》(lit. "Starlight"). Two dramas which received the top two highest nominations, ''Blessings 2'' (eight) and ''A Million Dollar Dream'' (six), were tied with the most wins with three; ''Blessings 2'' won the Best Drama Serial, Best Director and Young Talent Awards, while ''A Million Dollar Dream'' won three of four acting categories except Best Supporting Actress. The Simmons Bedding Company is an American major manufacturer of mattresses and related bedding products, based in Atlanta, Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia. The company was founded in 1870. Star Awards 2021
Star Awards 2021 (Simplified Chinese, Chinese: 红星大奖2021) is a television award ceremony that was held in Singapore on 18 April 2021. The ceremony honoured the best Singaporean television released between January 2019 and December 2020. The ceremony was originally scheduled for April 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Singapore, COVID-19 pandemic, Mediacorp announced that the ceremony would be postponed for a year until 2021. Period drama ''A Quest to Heal'' won five awards including Star Awards for Best Drama Serial, Best Drama Serial, Best Lead and Supporting Actors, Best Theme Song, and Best Director, the last of which was awarded in an unaired Backstage Achievement Award. Other winners include Zoe Tay of ''My Guardian Angels'' and Kym Ng of ''Daybreak'', who won Best Lead and Supporting Actresses respectively, the former breaking a winning record of four wins. SPOP Sing! (season 1)
''SPOP Sing!'' () is a Chinese singing reality competition broadcast by Mediacorp Channel 8. Season 1 premiered on 9 August after the broadcast of National Day Parade and ended on the live finale on 4 November at Padang. During the live finals, 18-year-old Singapore Polytechnic student Jarrell Huang (17 at the time of his audition) was announced the winner of ''SPOP Sing!'', and 21-year-old LASALLE College of the Arts student Marcus Tay was declared as a runner-up. Development The show was first revealed to the public on 22 April 2018 during the broadcast of ''Star Awards 2018'' with a teaser clip uploaded to Toggle, aimed to promote the Chinese culture, the music genre of mandopop and xinyao, and paying tribute to local singing talents of Singapore. This is also the first S-Pop themed competition in more than a decade, since ''SPOP Hurray!'' in 2008. Mind Matters ( zh, 心。情) is a 20-episode drama series produced by Mediacorp Channel 8. The show aired at 9pm on weekdays and had a repeat telecast at 8am the following day.
