2019 Selangor FA Season
The 2019 Selangor FA Season was Selangor FA's 14th season playing soccer in the Malaysia Super League since its inception in 2004. The season began on 3 February 2019. The team participated in two domestic cups, the Malaysia FA Cup and the Malaysia Cup. Season Overview Pre-season (Squad build and first transfers) On 1 November 2018, Azamuddin Akil announced that he would be leaving after Selangor had not renewed his contract. On 7 November 2018, Selangor announced the transfers of Syazwan Zainon from Kedah. On 23 November 2018, B. Sathianathan was officially announced as Selangor's new coach for the upcoming season. He appeared for his first press conference in front of the media on that day. Selangor Football Club ( Malay: ''Kelab Bola Sepak Selangor''), commonly referred to as Selangor F.C. is a Malaysian professional football club based in the city of Shah Alam, Selangor, that currently competes in the Malaysia Super League, the top tier of Malaysian football. The club is nicknamed the Red Giants. Officially founded in 1936 by the Football Association of Selangor (FAS), the association built its football development as a result of a merger with the Selangor Association Football League (SAFL - established in 1905) and forming the professional football team known as Selangor FA. 2020 Selangor FA Season
The 2020 season was Selangor's 15th season in the Super League and their 35th consecutive season in the top flight of Malaysia football. The club also participated in the Malaysia Cup and the FA Cup. Review This is Selangor second season under head coach B. Sathianathan, who took permanent charge in March 2019. It is also the first season since 2018 without club captain Amri Yahyah, who left the club at the end of the 2019 season. B. Sathianathan named Taylor Regan as Amri's successor as club captain. Selangor will begin the season on 29 February 2020. On 13 March, it was announced that the league would be suspended indefinitely, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. On 1 May, it was announced that the league would resume in September dependent on the situation at the time. If the M-League is not allowed to resume in September, the season will be called off. Muhammad Haziq bin Ridwan (born 11 January 1996) is a Malaysian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. Club career Early year Born in Selangor, he played junior football in Selangor under-19 from 2013 to 2015, before joining under-21 squad in 2016. He also was one of the players representing the Selangor football in sporting events (Sukma) in Sarawak. Abdul Halim bin Zainal (born 29 July 1988 in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan) is a Malaysian footballer who plays for Negeri Sembilan in Malaysia Premier League. He is the younger brother of former Malaysia international player, Faizal Zainal and Khairil Zainal. Mohd. Razman bin Roslan (born 14 August 1984) is a Malaysian professional footballer who currently plays for Melaka United. He mainly plays as a centre-back but can also play as a right-back. Mohd Syazwan bin Zainon (born 13 November 1989) is a Malaysian professional footballer. Early life Born and raised in Utan Aji, Kangar in state of northern Malaysia Perlis, Syazwan got his early education at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Syed Alwi in Kayang, Perlis.
