In 2019, some rugby union national teams played matches in preparation for the 2019 Rugby World Cup. The matches saw New Zealand lose first place in the World Rugby Rankings, initially to Wales, and eventually to Ireland. David Mélé (born 22 October 1985) is a rugby union coach most recently for Leicester Tigers. He was previously a professional player for Perpignan in two spells; Leicester, Toulouse and Grenoble; and represented internationally.
