2019 Rice Owls Football Team
The 2019 Rice Owls football team represented Rice University in the 2019 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Owls played their home games at Rice Stadium in Houston, Texas, and competed in the West Division of Conference USA (C–USA). They were led by second-year head coach Mike Bloomgren. They finished the season 3–9, 3–5 in C-USA play to finish in a three-way tie for fourth place in the West Division. Rice started the season on a nine-game losing streak before closing out the season by winning their final three games. Mike Bloomgren
Michael Scott Bloomgren (born January 25, 1977) is an American football coach. He is currently the head football coach at Rice University. Prior to beginning his coaching career, Bloomgren played the tight end position at Culver–Stockton College. Biography Bloomgren prepped at Florida High School in Tallahassee, Florida. He played college football as a tight end at Culver–Stockton College. He graduated from Florida State University magna cum laude with his bachelor’s degree in sports management, with a minor in business, in 1999. During his time at Florida State, he also worked as an undergraduate assistant to the linebackers. After graduating, Bloomgren became a graduate assistant at the University of Alabama. While at Alabama, he earned his master's degree in higher education administration with a 4.0 GPA. Bishop Lynch High School is a college preparatory school of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Dallas founded by the Dominican Order in Dallas, Texas, United States. The school serves grades 9–12. Cinco Ranch High School (CRHS) is a public school located in an unincorporated area in Fort Bend County, Texas, United States that serves grades 9 through 12 as part of the Katy Independent School District. Lake Travis High School
Lake Travis High School is a public high school located in unincorporated Travis County, Texas, United States, approximately 20 miles west of Austin, near Lake Travis. The preparatory is accredited by the Texas Education Agency and rated as an exemplary secondary by TEA standards. Rick Reedy High School, or RHS (locally referred to as Reedy), is a four-year public high school located in Frisco, Texas. It is part of the Frisco Independent School District. Frisco is a city in Collin and Denton counties in the U.S. state of Texas. Stanford Cardinal Football
The Stanford Cardinal football program represents Stanford University in college football at the NCAA Division I FBS level and is a member of the Pac-12 Conference's North Division. The team is known as the Cardinal, adopted prior to the 1982 season. Stanford was known as the "Cardinal" for its first two decades of athletic competition, then more commonly as the "Cardinals" until 1930. The name was changed to the "Indians" from 1930 to January 1972, and back to the "Cardinals" from 1972 through 1981.
