2019 Premier Volleyball League Season
The 2019 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) season was the third season of the Premier Volleyball League that started on May 26, 2019 at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan. All-Star game Alyssa Valdez and Myla Pablo headed the two teams, blue and red, respectively. The all-star game was staged to generate funds for the benefit of the Help Educate and Rear Orphans (Hero) Foundation. Premier Volleyball League
The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is the top-level professional women's volleyball league in the Philippines organized by the Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. The PVL was established in 2004 as the inter-collegiate Shakey's V-League (SVL) until it rebranded to the current entity in 2017. Prior to becoming a full-fledged professional league in 2021, the PVL was open to participation of corporate owned semi-professional clubs and non-collegiate teams backed by local governments. The PVL previously operated men's and collegiate divisions before they were spun-off into Spikers' Turf and the V-League (Philippines), V-League, respectively, both are also operated by Sports Vision. The Creamline Cool Smashers are the most successful team with ten titles, which included the league's only Grand Slam in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League season, 2024 season. Melissa "Mel" Gohing-Nacino (born October 22, 1991) is a Filipino volleyball athlete. She played for the Creamline Cool Smashers until 2019 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference, 2019 in the Premier Volleyball League. Personal life Born in Bacolod, Negros Occidental, to a family of Filipino, Chinese and Spanish ancestry. She's the third among five kids, has one brother and three sisters. Early in her childhood, she already exhibited signs of being a fashionista. Her mom said, when she was in preschool, she always wants to wear footwear that matches her dress (it must be color coordinated). She attended preschool in Tay Tung High School. 2019 Spikers' Turf
The 2019 Spikers' Turf season was the fourth season of the men's volleyball league Spikers' Turf, the counterpart of the women's Premier Volleyball League. In 2014, the Shakey's V-League introduced a men's division during its 21st conference. The following year, Sports Vision, the organizers of the Shakey's V-League decided to spin off the men's vision as a separate tournament, giving birth to the Spikers' Turf. Jamenea "Jem" Ferrer is a Filipina volleyball player. She was a 3-time UAAP best setter awardee while playing for the Ateneo university Lady Eagles volleyball team. Julia Melissa "Jia" Morado-de Guzman (born May 10, 1995) is a Filipino volleyball player. She was a member of the Ateneo Lady Eagles and was the team's captain in the UAAP Season 79 Women's Volleyball tournament. From 2015, Jia has been a constant member of the Philippines Women's National Volleyball Team. Maria Lina Isabel "Isa" Molde (born October 18, 1998) is a Filipino volleyball player playing for the Choco Mucho Flying Titans in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL). Career Molde was a member of the U17 Philippines national women's volleyball team in 2014, the Under-17 team finished 7th among 13 teams in the 2014 Asian Youth Girls Volleyball Championship. It defeated Australia and India while losing to China in straight sets in the Group C stage. In the qualifying round, it lost to Thailand while winning against New Zealand in 4 sets. Katherine Adrielle "Kathy" Reyes Bersola (born March 18, 1996) is a Filipino volleyball athlete. She played with the University of the Philippines - UP Lady Maroons Volleyball Team. Bersola holds a degree in Sports Science with summa cum laude honors from UP Diliman and later admitted at UP College of Medicine.
