The 2019 Porirua City Council election took place on 12 October 2019, to elect the Mayor of Porirua and city councillors the 2019–22 term, as part of 2019 New Zealand local elections, nation-wide local elections. Electoral system The election was held using the single transferable vote system. Ten councillors were elected across three wards Candidates could not spend more than $40,000 on electoral expenses and had to disclose details of any donations larger than $1,500.
