Ottawa Fury FC
Ottawa Fury Football Club was a Canadian professional soccer club based in Ottawa, Ontario. The club competed in the North American Soccer League and USL Championship and played its home games at TD Place Stadium. The Ottawa Fury FC were dissolved as a soccer club on November 8, 2019 and their USL franchise rights were sold to Miami FC on December 11, 2019. An unrelated club, Atlético Ottawa, were formed in 2020 to enter the Canadian Premier League representing the city, with home games again at TD Place Stadium. History Formative years On June 20, 2011, the North American Soccer League announced that Ottawa had been awarded an expansion franchise. Christiano François (born July 17, 1993) is a Haitian professional footballer who plays as a winger for the Rio Grande Valley FC in the USL Championship and for the Haiti national team. Career Early career François came to the United States following the 2010 Haiti earthquake, playing prep soccer for two years at Saint Benedict's Preparatory School in Newark, New Jersey. He enrolled in the University of Maryland's Maryland English Institute and formed a close bond with fellow Haitian Widner Saint-Cyr. Protais-Hamza Bumbu-Mutambala (born February 8, 1999) is a Canadian soccer player who plays for CS Mont-Royal Outremont. Early life Mutambala was born in a refugee camp in Nyarugusu, Tanzania, but grew up in Quebec City in Canada. He began playing youth soccer at age 10 with AS Sud-Ouest Montréal. Afterwards, he joined the Montreal Impact Academy, after being scouted playing in the Jeux de la rue. Club career In 2018, Mutambala played with Première Ligue de soccer du Québec side CS Longueuil. Callum Ernest John Irving (born March 16, 1993) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for Canadian Premier League club Vancouver FC. He began his career playing for local clubs in Vancouver before joining the Whitecaps FC Academy in 2007. Elhadji Mour Samb (born 8 January 1994) is a Senegalese professional footballer. Early life Samb was born in Saly, Senegal and developed with local club Diambars. Luca Salvatore Ricci (born February 23, 1998) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder. Club career Ricci began his career with the Montreal Impact Academy.
