New England Revolution
The New England Revolution is an American professional soccer club based in the Greater Boston area that competes in Major League Soccer (MLS), in the Eastern Conference of the league. It is one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, having competed in the league since its inaugural season. The club is owned by Robert Kraft, who also owns the New England Patriots along with his son, Jonathan Kraft. The name "Revolution" refers to the New England region's significant involvement in the American Revolution that took place from 1775 to 1783. New England plays their home matches at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, located 21 miles (34 km) southwest of downtown Boston. The club played their home games at the adjacent and now-demolished Foxboro Stadium, from 1996 until 2001. 2020 New England Revolution Season
The 2020 New England Revolution season was the team's 25th season of existence, and their 25th season in Major League Soccer, the top-flight of American soccer. Season Review On March 12 it was announced that the 2020 Major League Soccer season had been temporarily suspended for 30 days due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On April 17 the MLS announced that the suspension was extended until at least June 8. On May 6, MLS allowed voluntary individual workouts on outdoor fields for the first time since the suspension. Juan Fernando Caicedo Benítez (born 13 July 1989) is a Colombian professional footballer that currently plays for Categoría Primera A club Deportes Tolima. Career Caicedo began his career with Cortuluá in 2010, scoring 1 goal in 8 appearances. He then transferred to Deportes Quindio in 2011, staying with them for two seasons. Caicedo had a great season in 2012, scoring 13 league goals, including a hat trick against Deportes Tolima. However, he missed two trainings without explanation, which made it seem like he was going to leave, and in January 2013, Caicedo signed with Danubio F.C. of Uruguay. The Colorado Rapids are an American professional soccer club based in the Denver metropolitan area. The Rapids compete in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Western Conference. Founded in 1995, as part of the Anschutz Corporation, later to be a founding sports franchise of the global sports & entertainment juggernaut AEG, the club is a founding member of MLS, playing their first season in 1996. Edgar Eduardo Castillo Carrillo (born October 8, 1986) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a left-back. Castillo is noted for being one of five players to earn a senior cap for both sides of the United States-Mexico rivalry. Youth Castillo grew up in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and played for Mayfield High School under coach Arturo Garibay. In 2002, as a sophomore, he was named NSCAA/ Adidas High School State Player of the Year. Justin Gerard Rennicks (born March 20, 1999) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a forward for Major League Soccer club New England Revolution. Elio Nicolas Firmino (born 30 January 2001) is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Atlanta United 2 in MLS Next Pro. Career New England Revolution In November 2018, Firmino signed a Homegrown Player Contract with the New England Revolution. Kevin Hitchcock
Kevin Hitchcock (born 5 October 1962) is an English football coach and former professional footballer who is goalkeeping coach of MLS side New England Revolution. As a player, he was a goalkeeper who made nearly 300 league appearances, notably playing in the Premier League for Chelsea between 1988 and 2001. He also had spells in the top flight for Nottingham Forest, West Ham United and Watford that yielded no appearances. He played the rest of his career in the Football League for Mansfield Town and Northampton Town. Richie Williams
Richard "Richie" Williams (born June 3, 1970) is an American former professional soccer player and coach. Known for his diminutive height and his dogged tackling, Williams spent the vast majority of his playing career in the United States, playing one season in the National Professional Soccer League, two in USISL, two in the USL A-League, and eight in Major League Soccer, most notably for MetroStars and D.C. United. He also earned 20 caps for the United States men's national soccer team. Curt Onalfo
Curt Onalfo (born November 19, 1969) is an American former soccer player and coach who currently serves as technical director of Major League Soccer club New England Revolution. As a player, he played two seasons in France, two in the USISL, one in Mexico and four in Major League Soccer, achieving his most success with the Los Angeles Galaxy and D.C. United. He also earned one cap with the United States national team. He has an extensive coaching résumé, having served as head coach of three MLS clubs. Generation Adidas
Generation Adidas is a joint venture between Major League Soccer and U.S. Soccer aimed at raising the level of young professional soccer talent in the United States. The program, sponsored by Adidas, offers professional-ready players in the U.S. developmental system not yet eligible for the MLS SuperDraft early entry, allowing MLS to compete with foreign professional clubs without comparable restrictions on player signing.
