2019 Hyderabad Open (badminton)
The 2019 Hyderabad Open (officially known as the IDBI Federal Life Insurance Hyderabad Open 2019 for sponsorship reasons) was a badminton tournament which took place at G. M. C. Balayogi SATS Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, India, from 6 to 11 August 2019 and had a total purse of $75,000. Tournament The 2019 Hyderabad Open was the fifth Super 100 tournament of the 2019 BWF World Tour and also part of the Hyderabad Open championships, which had been held since 2018. This tournament was organized by the Badminton Association of India and sanctioned by the BWF. Venue This international tournament was held at G. M. C. BWF Tour Super 100
The BWF World Tour is a Grade 2 badminton tournament series, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It is a competition open to the top world ranked players in singles (men's and women's) and doubles (men's, women's and mixed). The competition was announced on 19 March 2017 and came into effect starting from 2018, replacing the BWF Super Series, which was held from 2007 to 2017. The BWF World Tour are divided into six levels, namely World Tour Finals, Super 1000, Super 750, Super 500, and Super 300 in order (part of the HSBC World Tour). Iskandar Zulkarnain bin Zainuddin (born 24 May 1991) is a Malaysian badminton player and coach. He represented Malaysia as the third singles in the 2018 Thomas Cup and helped Malaysia qualify for the quarter finals. Iskandar was appointed as part of the Irish badminton coaching staff in 2021. Loh Kean Yew LKY (born 26 June 1997) is a Singaporean badminton player. He is the former men's singles world champion, winning the title at the 2021 BWF World Championships – Men's singles, 2021 BWF World Championships, becoming the first Singaporean to achieve this feat. Loh's success as a child in Penang state team saw him receive a scholarship from the Singapore Sports School. Heo Kwang-hee (; born 11 August 1995) is a South Korean badminton player who was educated at the Dankook University. He was selected to join the national team in 2012, and joined the Samsung Electro-Mechanics team in 2014. Heo was the bronze medalists at the 2012 World Junior Championships in the boys' singles and team event, and Asian Junior Championships in the team event.
