2019 Georgia Bulldogs Football Team
The 2019 Georgia Bulldogs football team represented the University of Georgia in the 2019 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Bulldogs played their home games at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia, and competed in the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). They were led by fourth-year head coach Kirby Smart. Georgia began the year ranked third in the AP Poll, and were considered the favorite to represent the East Division in the SEC Championship Game for a third consecutive year. On September 21, the team secured a win over then-No. 7 Notre Dame, 23–17. They suffered their first loss of the year when they were upset by unranked South Carolina at home. Kirby Smart
Kirby Paul Smart (born December 23, 1975) is an American football coach and former player. He is the current head football coach at the University of Georgia, his alma mater. As head coach, he led the Bulldogs to back-to-back national championships in 2021 and 2022. Early life Smart was born in Montgomery, Alabama, to Sonny and Sharon Smart, and grew up in Bainbridge, Georgia. He has a brother, Karl and a sister, Kendall. Solomon Terry Kindley (born July 3, 1997) is an American professional football guard. He played college football at Georgia. College career During his redshirt freshman season in 2017, Kindley started 10 games at right guard. William Jacob Fromm (born July 30, 1998) is an American professional football quarterback. He played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs and was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL draft. 2019 NCAA Division I FBS Football Rankings
Two human polls and a committee's selections comprise the 2019 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) football rankings, in addition to various publications' preseason polls. Unlike most sports, college football's governing body, the NCAA, does not bestow a national championship, instead that title is bestowed by one or more different polling agencies.
