Weert (; li, Wieërt ) is a municipality and city in the southeastern Netherlands located in the western part of the province of Limburg. It lies on the Eindhoven–Maastricht railway line, and is also astride the Zuid-Willemsvaart canal. Population centres The city of Weert Weert received city rights in 1414. Triathlon In The Netherlands
A triathlon is an endurance multisport race consisting of swimming, cycling, and running over various distances. Triathletes compete for fastest overall completion time, racing each segment sequentially with the time transitioning between the disciplines included. The word is of Greek origin, from τρεῖς or ''treis'' (three) and ἆθλος or ''athlos'' (competition). The sport originated in the late 1970s in Southern California as sports clubs and individuals developed the sport. This history has meant that variations of the sport were created and still exist. It also led to other three-stage races using the name triathlon despite not being continuous or not consisting of swim, bike, and run elements. Triathletes train to achieve endurance, strength and speed. Rachel Klamer (born 8 October 1990) is a Dutch professional triathlete and member of the National team. She placed third at the Junior World Championships in 2009. Klamer, who presently lives in Sittard, entered the national and international stage in 2008 when she won both the National Triathlon Championships (Junior) in Aalsmeer and the Duathlon Championships (Junior) in Oss, placed 4th in the European Junior Cup at Holten, and, at the age of 17, also started to compete in the elite category, placing 10th in the British Corus Elite Series. Justus Nieschlag (born 9 March 1992 in Hildesheim), is a German professional triathlete, member of the National Team (B-Kader/U23), and the Junior European Champion of the year 2011. In Germany, Nieschlag represents the club of his home town, ''Lehrte SV Triathlon.'' Since 2011, he also takes part in the German Club Championship Series ''Erste Bundesliga.'' In 2012, he represented the winning club ''EJOT Team Buschhütten.''
