2019 Connacht Senior Football Championship
The 2019 Connacht Senior Football Championship is the 120th installment of the annual Connacht Senior Football Championship organised by Connacht GAA. It is one of the four provincial competitions of the 2019 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. As of 2018 the competition winners advanced to the "All-Ireland Super 8s". The draw for the Connacht Championship was made on 12 October 2018. The winners receive the J. J. Nestor Cup, named after J. J. Nestor of Quinaltagh, County Galway. For a fourth year in a row, the final was contested between Galway and Roscommon. Roscommon were the winners of the championship, defeating Galway at Pearse Stadium in Salthill by 1-13 to 0-12. In 2020 Sligo skipped the championship due to Covid-19 meaning it could be London and New York skipped both 2020 and 2021 seasons are back in 2022. Anthony Cunningham
Anthony Cunningham (born 16 June 1965) is a former hurler who has since managed various Gaelic football and hurling teams. He was manager of the Galway county hurling team between 2011 and 2015 and of the Roscommon county football team between 2018 and 2022. He is the only manager to lead a football team and a hurling team to provincial titles in two different provinces. Born in Peterswell, County Galway, Cunningham was raised in the south of the county. He was a two-time Connacht medallist at colleges level with Our Lady's College while also joining the St Thomas' senior club team. Cunningham made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of fifteen when he first linked up with the Galway minor team. James Horan (Gaelic Footballer)
James Horan (born 1972) is a Gaelic football manager and former player. He is the two-time former manager of the Mayo county team. Horan led Mayo to consecutive All-Ireland SFC finals during his first spell in charge with a return of two defeats: in 2012 by Donegal and in 2013 by Dublin. He also led Mayo to consecutive All-Ireland SFC finals during his second spell in charge, again with a return of two defeats: in 2020 by Dublin (the fourth final Mayo had lost to Dublin in eight years) and in 2021 by Tyrone. Career Horan was born in New Zealand. Horan experienced a successful playing career at club level with Ballintubber and at inter-county level with Mayo. The 1994 Bank of Ireland All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 108th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 15 May 1994 and ended on 18 September 1994. Derry entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Down in the Ulster quarter-final in what is regarded as one of the greatest games of all time. On 18 September 1994, Down won the championship following a 1–12 to 0–13 defeat of Dublin in the All-Ireland final. The 2001 Bank of Ireland All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 115th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 6 May 2001 and ended on 23 September 2001. The format of the championship saw the biggest change in over 100 years with the introduction of the All-Ireland qualifiers. This system saw teams who were defeated in the provincial championships enter a secondary championship and the chance to qualify for the All-Ireland series.
