2019 Clarkson Cup
The 2019 Clarkson Cup was held at Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto on 24 March 2019 with the Calgary Inferno defeating the Canadiennes de Montreal by a score of 5-2. Brianna Decker scored the game-winning goal during a power play opportunity in the second period, with Kacey Bellamy logging the assist. Calgary Inferno
The Calgary Inferno (previously known as Team Alberta, nickname "Honeybadgers", during the 2011–12 season) was a women's ice hockey team that joined the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) for the 2011–12 CWHL season, 2011–12 season. The team played its home games at Joan Snyder Rink (Arena B) at WinSport Canada in Calgary, Alberta. After two seasons without an official name, in 2013 the team picked a moniker drawing from Calgary's National Hockey League franchise, the Calgary Flames, with whom they had a partnership. For the 2013-14 season, it was announced that all Inferno home-games would be streamed live by PCSN.tv. Venla Hovi
Venla Hovi (; born 28 October 1987) is a Finnish ice hockey coach and former ice hockey forward. She is an assistant coach for the Harvard Crimson women's ice hockey program, and was head coach of the Metropolitan Riveters in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) during the 2022–23 PHF season. A member of the Finnish national team for over a decade, Hovi won bronze medals at the 2010 and 2018 Winter Olympic Games and at the 2008, 2009, and 2017 IIHF Women's World Championships, and a silver medal at the 2019 IIHF Women's World Championship. Hovi announced her retirement from top athletic competition the day following the achievement of silver at the 2019 Worlds. Following her retirement, Hovi served as an on-ice instructor with True North, the Winnipeg Jets' hockey development program. Katelyn Gosling (born May 8, 1993) is a Canadian women's ice hockey player. Having earned Canadian Interuniversity Sport All-Canadian honours while competing for the Western Mustangs women's ice hockey program, Gosling was claimed by the Calgary Inferno in the 2016 CWHL Draft. She also competed with Canada's national team at the Winter Universiade, serving as Canada's captain at the 2017 tournament. Halli Krzyzaniak (born February 4, 1995) is a Canadian women's ice hockey player, currently playing for the Calgary section of the PWHPA. She made her debut with the Canada women's national ice hockey team at the 2014 4 Nations Cup. Brigette Lacquette
Brigette Lacquette (born November 10, 1992) is a Canadian ice hockey player, currently playing defence for the Calgary section of the PWHPA and the Canadian national team. She participated at the 2015 IIHF Women's World Championship. In the autumn of 2015, Lacquette joined the Calgary Inferno of the CWHL. In 2018, Lacquette became the first First Nations woman to play for the Canadian women's Olympic hockey team. To honour her accomplishment, Lacquette's Olympic hockey stick was included in the diversity exhibit in the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2018.
