2019 Cargill Curling Training Centre Icebreaker
The 2019 Cargill Curling Training Centre Icebreaker was held from August 23 to 25 in Morris, Manitoba. It was the fourth event of the 2019–20 curling season. The total purse for the event was $7,480 on both the Men's and Women's side. In the Men's event, Jason Gunnlaugson defeated Ty Dilello 7–5 in the final and in the Women's event, Tracy Fleury defeated Tori Koana is a Japanese curler. She was the skip of Team Fujikyu. Morris, Manitoba
Morris is a small town in the Pembina Valley region of Manitoba, Canada, located 51 km south of Winnipeg and 42 km north of Emerson. Morris is home to 1,885 people (2016). Named after Alexander Morris, the second Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba. Highway 75, which turns into Interstate 29, is the major highway which runs from Winnipeg to Missouri. Morris is the only town in which Highway 75 is called "Main Street". Zachary Bilawka (born February 19, 2001) is a Canadian curler from Winnipeg, Manitoba. He currently plays second on Team Ryan Wiebe. Career Bilawka played for the Graham Loewen rink from 2017 to 2019 and the team represented Manitoba at the 2019 Canada Winter Games. Brayden Payette (born April 6, 2000) is a Canadian curler from Brandon, Manitoba. He currently plays second on Team Jacques Gauthier. Career Payette joined the Jacques Gauthier rink at second for the 2019–20 season with Jordan Peters at third and Zack Bilawka at lead. Jordan Peters
Jordan Peters (born December 12, 1998) is a Canadian curler from Rosenort, Manitoba. He currently plays third on Team Jacques Gauthier. Career Peters first represented Manitoba at the 2017 Canadian U18 Curling Championships as third for Brett Walter. There, they finished in tenth place out of twelve teams with a 3–5 record. He won his first Manitoba junior title in 2019 with skip J. T. Ryan, sending the team to the 2019 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. At the championship, they finished round robin and championship pool play with a 7–3 record, qualifying for the playoffs. Jacques Gauthier (curler)
Jacques Gauthier (born October 17, 1998) is a Canadian curler from Winnipeg, Manitoba. He currently plays second on Team Kevin Koe. Career Gauthier played most of his junior career as third for J. T. Ryan. With Ryan, he won a silver medal at the 2019 Canadian Junior Curling Championships and a bronze medal at the 2018 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. In 2018, he got to play in his first World Junior Curling Championships as alternate for Tyler Tardi. The team won a gold medal. Ryan aged out of juniors after the 2019 championships and Gauthier formed his own team for the 2019–20 season. Rob Gordon (curler)
Robbie "Rob" Gordon (born November 28, 1995) is a Canadian curler from Winnipeg, Manitoba. He currently plays lead on Team Braden Calvert. Career Gordon joined the 2013 Canadian Junior Curling Championships winning rink of Matt Dunstone for the 2013–14 season. The team lost in the finals of the Manitoba Canola Juniors to Braden Calvert in both 2014 and 2015. The team would win the Manitoba juniors the following year in 2016. This earned the Dunstone rink a spot in the 2016 Canadian Juniors where Gordon would win his first championship after defeating Northern Ontario 11–4 in the final, and represented Canada at the 2016 World Junior Curling Championships, winning a bronze medal. Ian McMillan (curler)
Ian McMillan (born July 17, 1991 in Dryden, Ontario) is a Canadian curler from Winnipeg, Manitoba. He currently plays second on Team Tanner Horgan. Career McMillan is most notable for winning the 2017 Tour Challenge Tier 2 Grand Slam of Curling event playing second for Jason Gunnlaugson. The team finished sixth on the CTRS standings that season. McMillan left the team the following season and joined the Braden Calvert rink. Team Calvert had a fairly successful first season together, beginning with the 2018 Icebreaker at The Granite where they won the event title.
