2019 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships
The 2019 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships were the second edition of the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships which was held at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Hong Kong from 19 to 24 March 2019. It was organised by Badminton Asia and Hong Kong Badminton Association. The event was also known as the Tong Yun Kai Cup 2019. Medalists Tournament The 2019 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships officially crowned the best mixed national badminton teams in Asia. 11 teams, lacking two teams from previous edition entered the tournament. Venue The tournament was held at Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Hong Kong. Seeds The seeding were as follows: Draw The draw was held at World Trade Centre Club on 28 February 2019. Queen Elizabeth Stadium
The Queen Elizabeth Stadium is an indoor sport facility on the Morrison Hill in Wan Chai, on the Hong Kong Island of Hong Kong. First opened in 1980, it has a 3,500-seat arena, gymnasia, squash and badminton courts, and a multi-purpose hall. It was built by the Urban Council, and is now managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Government. It hosted the official 1983 Asian Basketball Championship. History Queen Elizabeth II made her first visit to Hong Kong, then a British colony, in May 1975. This Royal Visit became the namesake of the stadium. The construction was funded by various means including donations from local philanthropists such as Sir Tang Shiu-kin, and the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club. Tan Qiang
Tan Qiang (; born 16 September 1998) is a Chinese badminton player. In 2015, he won the bronze medal at the Asian Junior Championships in the boys' doubles event partnered with Ren Xiangyu, and in 2016, won the silver medal partnered with He Jiting. is a Japanese badminton player affiliated with Tonami team. Shiho Tanaka
is a Japanese retired badminton player who affiliates with Hokuto Bank team. She was the bronze medalists at the 2018 World Championships in the women's doubles, and at the 2015 Summer Universiade in the women's singles. She won the year-end tournament Superseries Finals in 2017. Tanaka was part of Japanese winning team at the 2017 Asia Mixed Team Championships, 2018 Uber Cup, and at the 2018 Asia Women's Team Championships. is a Japanese badminton player. He was the mixed doubles gold medalist at the 2013 Asian Youth Games partnered with Akane Yamaguchi. Koharu Yonemoto
is a retired Japanese badminton player who affiliate with Hokuto Bank. She was the women's doubles bronze medalist at the 2018 World Championships, and the silver medalist at the 2013 East Asian Games. She won the year-end tournament Superseries Finals in 2017. Ayane Kurihara
is a Japanese former badminton player. She began playing badminton at age 9, and played competitively from then on. She became a member of the Japan national badminton team at the age of 19. Her current partner is Naru Shinoya for women's doubles and Kohei Gondo for mixed doubles.
