2019 Assen W Series Round
The 2019 W Series Assen round (also commercially referred to as #WRace5) was the fifth round of the 2019 W Series, and took place at the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands on 20 July 2019. The event was an undercard to the 2019 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters round at the same circuit. Report Background Heading into the event, Jamie Chadwick leads the championship on 83 points as the only driver to score a podium at all 4 events. Having beaten Chadwick to second in Nuremberg, Beitske Visser closed the gap to ten points with two races remaining. 2019 W Series
The 2019 W Series was the inaugural motor racing season of the W Series, an all-female Formula 3-level racing series. Driver selection 55 drivers were initially entered in a qualifying longlist for the 2019 season, with a further six added later on. An evaluation was held at the Wachauring in Melk, Austria over 26–28 January, with series judges—including David Coulthard, Alexander Wurz and Lyn St. James— selecting a shortlist of drivers that would get to test the Tatuus–Alfa Romeo T-318. Drivers completed 10 'modules' that tested their skills in racecraft, fitness, media training and sponsorship pitches, before a final knockout series of races that would decide the 28 drivers that advanced to the next stage at the in Almería, Spain. Sabré Cook (born May 21, 1994 in Grand Junction, Colorado) is an American female racing driver and mechanical engineer. She has previously competed in the W Series. Biography Cook started her professional motorsport career with an invitation into the 2017 SCCA National Championship Runoffs event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, finishing ninth in the Formula Enterprise class. She would step up to American entry level formula in 2018, running partial campaigns in both U.S.F2000 and Formula 4. Małgorzata Agnieszka Łazarczyk (née Rdest, born 14 January 1993 in Żyrardów) is a Polish female racing driver and businesswoman. She currently competes in the Alpine Elf Europa Cup. is a Japanese people, Japanese List of female racing drivers, female racing driver. She is currently competing in the 2022 Formula Regional Japanese Championship, 2022 season of Formula Regional Japanese Championship, where she prematurely clinched the title with three races to spare. Caitlin Wood (born 15 January 1997 in Maitland, New South Wales) is an Australian female racing driver who last competed in the 2021 W Series. Biography Hailing from Tenambit in the New South Wales Hunter Valley, Wood began her professional motorsport career in 2013 in a state-level Formula Ford championship. She ended her debut in car racing 5th out of 7 in the championship. She subsequently moved up to the inaugural Australian Formula Ford Championship in 2015, however she struggled to 21st in the championship with only three points finishes. Esmee Anna Hawkey (born 2 March 1998 in Chislehurst) is a British racing driver who currently competes in Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, driving a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo for T3 Motorsport. Sarah Moore (born 22 October 1993) is a British racing driver. She won the Ginetta Junior Championship in 2009 and competed in the InterSteps Championship in 2011. She was awarded the Rising Star status by the British Racing Drivers' Club in 2009.
