GFA Premier League
The GFA Premier League is the top Association football, football league in Grenada. It was created in 1983 and is headed by the Grenada Football Association. 10 teams participate in this league. The 10th-placed team is relegated to the GFA First Division, Grenada First Division, while the 9th-placed team plays a play-off with the 2nd-placed team of the second level. Despite being a league competition in CONCACAF none of the Grenadan teams ever played in CFU Club Championship or CONCACAF Champions' Cup. Some of the matches are played at the 9,000 capacity Grenada National Stadium. League games usually take place in front of dozens of spectators. In 2014, the match between PetroCaribe Queens Park Rangers and Nixon's Electrical Happy Hill FC was the first live broadcast of a Premier Division match. Kithson Bain
Kithson Anthony Bain (born 26 May 1982) is a Grenadian footballer currently playing for Caledonia AIA in the Trinidad and Tobago Premier League. He has been capped at full international level by the Grenada national football team. Club career Bain began his footballing career for Grenadian side Queens Park Rangers before moving to fellow Grenadian side Ball Dogs. Tranmere Rovers In 2008 Bain had finished top scorer in the 2008 Caribbean Cup tournament with 5 goals. The then Tranmere Rovers manager John Barnes had also been involved in the tournament and his Jamaica national team won the tournament. Barnes was impressed enough with Bain to bring him to England, he signed for the Birkenhead-based club in August 2009. Bain made his first appearance for Tranmere in their 3–2 home defeat by Walsall on 12 September 2009. GFA First Division
The GFA First Division is the second tier of football in Grenada. The top two teams at the end of each season are promoted to the GFA Premier Division while the third and fourth place teams play the 7th and 8th placed Premier Division teams for advancement via playoffs. 2020 Caribbean Club Shield
The 2020 Caribbean Club Shield was originally to be the third edition of the Caribbean Club Shield (also known as the CFU Club Shield), the second-tier annual international club football competition in the Caribbean region, held amongst clubs whose football associations are affiliated with the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), a sub-confederation of CONCACAF. The tournament was originally scheduled to be played in Curaçao between 3–12 April 2020. On 13 March 2020, CONCACAF suspended all upcoming competitions scheduled to take place over the next 30 days due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the new dates of the tournament to be confirmed later.
