County Antrim Shield
The County Antrim & District Football Association Senior Shield (more commonly known as the County Antrim Shield) is a football competition in Northern Ireland. The competition is open to senior teams who are members of the North East Ulster Football Association (also known as the County Antrim & District Football Association) (membership of which extends geographically beyond County Antrim itself), often plus intermediate teams who qualify via the Steel & Sons Cup, depending on the numbers required. For the 2010–11 and 2011-12 seasons, only the winners took part. The current Shield holders are Glentoran, who beat Larne 5–4 on penalties in the 2024–25 final, winning the trophy for the first time since the 2010–11 season. Seaview (football Ground)
Seaview is a football stadium in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It is the home ground of Crusaders, and traditionally hosts the final of the Steel & Sons Cup on Christmas Day. The stadium holds 3,383, and has a 4G playing surface. Seaview has undergone considerable redevelopment in recent seasons, with new changing rooms, dug-outs and main-stand seats being installed. Three new stands at either end of the ground and on its southern side were opened in July 2011 to replace the previous terracing. Location and access Seaview was opened in 1921 as the home venue of Crusaders Football Club and is located on the Shore Road, approximately one mile north of Belfast city centre. The ground is flanked by the Shore Road behind one goal and the Belfast-to-Larne railway behind the other. Kirk Steven Millar (born 7 July 1992) is a Northern Irish footballer who plays for NIFL Premiership side Linfield. Colin Coates (born 26 October 1985) is a Northern Irish former semi-professional footballer who is the Assistant Manager of Glenavon F.C., Glenavon. Early life Coates was born in Belfast, and attended Grosvenor Grammar School, not traditionally a football-playing school. Club career Crusaders Coates made a name for himself at Crusaders. He later revealed that at 15, he had the choice of signing for either Crusaders or Glentoran F.C., Glentoran. David Cushley
David Cushley (born 22 July 1989) is a Northern Irish semi-professional footballer who plays as a forward for NIFL Premiership side Carrick Rangers. Club career "Cush" began his career at Ballymena United where he featured very little and in 2010 he moved to Lisburn Distillery and most notably won the League Cup in 2011 when they defeated Portadown. Following Distillery's relegation, Cushley rejoined Ballymena United where he became famous for his long range goals, with his long distance strike against Linfield getting several thousand views online from Fox Sports.
