2018 WCT Arctic Cup
The 2018 WCT Arctic Cup, a mixed doubles curling event on the World Curling Tour, was held May 24 to 27 at the Taimyr Ice Arena in Dudinka, Russia. It was the final event of the 2017–18 curling season. The total purse for the event was $US 20,000. In the final, the duo of Rachel Homan from Canada and Niklas Edin from Sweden defeated the Scottish pair of Gina Aitken and Duncan Menzies 7–6 to claim the championship title. Dudinka
Dudinka (; Nenets: Тут'ын, ''Tutꜧyn'') is a town on the Yenisei River and the administrative center of Taymyrsky Dolgano-Nenetsky District of Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia. It used to be the administrative center of Taymyr Autonomous Okrug, which was merged into Krasnoyarsk Krai on January 1, 2007. Population: History It was founded in 1667 as a winter settlement connected to Mangazeya. In 1930 it was designated the administrative center of the Taimyr Dolgan-Nenets National Region. Reid Carruthers
Reid Carruthers (born December 30, 1984) is a Canadian curler from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Carruthers was the 2011 world champion—winning gold as a second on Jeff Stoughton's team—as well as an eight-time provincial champion, the 2003 junior provincial champion, and the 2008 Manitoba provincial mixed champion. He coaches the Kerri Einarson women's team. Career As a junior curler, Carruthers skipped Manitoba at the 2003 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. He would lead the team to a 4-8 round robin record. After juniors, he skipped a team with Jason Gunnlaugson, Derek Samagalski and Tyler Forrest to a provincial final against Jeff Stoughton in 2006. Joanne Courtney
Joanne Margaret Courtney (born March 7, 1989, as Joanne Taylor) is a Canadian curler from Edmonton, Alberta. From 2014 to 2022, she was a member of the Rachel Homan rink which won the 2017 World Women's Curling Championship and represented Canada at the 2018 Winter Olympics. In 2023, she became a curling analyst for TSN, with the 2023 Scotties Tournament of Hearts becoming the first event she covered for the network.
