2018 USAC P1 Insurance National Midget Championship
The 2018 USAC P1 Insurance National Midget Championship is the 63rd season of the Midget series sanctioned by USAC. P1 Insurance becomes the new title sponsor of the series for 2018. The season will begin with the Shamrock Classic at Southern Illinois Center on March 10, and will end with the Turkey Night Grand Prix at Ventura Raceway on November 22. The series will also have a non points race with the Junior Knepper 55 at Southern Illinois Center on December 15. Spencer Bayston enters the season as the defending champion. Team & Driver Chart Driver & Team Changes * - Dooling/Hayward Motorsports formed an alliance with Richard Childress Racing to team up for the 2018 season with entries in USAC's P1 Insurance National Midget Championship & AMSOIL National Sprint Car Championship. Tracy Lee Hines (born May 1, 1972) is an American professional stunt driver. He was the 2000 United States Automobile Club, USAC Silver Crown Champion and 2002 USAC National Sprint Car Champion. He currently does not have a full-time ride in NASCAR as he competes for Tony Stewart Racing in three USAC series. NASCAR Hines made his first attempt at a Busch race in 2000, when he attempted to qualify for the Cheez-It 200 in a car owned by Jimmy Spencer (racing driver), Jimmy Spencer. Brady Bacon
Brady Bacon (born January 26, 1990) is an American racecar driver. Nicknamed 'Macho Man', he currently drives in the United States Auto Club, USAC Sprint car racing, Sprint Car Series. He won the 2014, 2016, 2020, and 2021 national championships. He previously had raced for Kasey Kahne and was a developmental driver for Chip Ganassi Racing. Racing career Bacon is a third generation driver who started racing at the age of 4 and moved his way up the ranks. In 2005, Bacon was the National Modified Midget Association Nationals Champion and earned Rookie Of The Year honors in the OCRS and SMRS. He was runner-up at the Knoxville Midget Nationals that year and won the Cornhusker Midget Challenge. Chad Boat (born January 30, 1992) is an American professional dirt track racing driver and team owner. The son of former driver Billy Boat, he has raced in Indy Lights and NASCAR. Racing career Sprint cars and midgets Boat began his racing career in Quarter Midget racing, quarter midgets at the age of five. At age seven, he won the Arizona state quarter midget championship, and the following year won the Light Modified and Light 160 midget championships.
