2018 Tipperary Senior Football Championship
The 2018 Tipperary Senior Football Championship (sponsored by Tipperary Water) was the 128th edition of the Tipperary GAA's premier club Gaelic football tournament for senior graded teams in County Tipperary, Ireland. The tournament consisted of 16 clubs with the winner going on to represent Tipperary in the Munster Senior Club Football Championship. The championship began with a Group stage before proceeding to a knock-out format. The winning Club received the O'Dwyer Cup. Clonmel Commercials were the defending champions, however the defence of their title came undone at the semi-final stage when losing to eventual champions Moyle Rovers. This was Kiladangan's debut in the senior grade after claiming the 2017 Tipperary I.F.C. title. On 28 October 2018, Moyle Rovers claimed their 9th Tipperary S.F.C. crown when defeating Ardfinnan by 1-15 to 1-7 in the final at Semple Stadium. This was their first triumph since 2009. Tipperary Senior Football Championship
The Tipperary Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club competition between the top Gaelic football clubs in Tipperary. The winners of the Tipperary Championship qualify to represent their county in the Munster Senior Club Football Championship, the winners of which advance to the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. History Over the decades, the Tipperary championship has been dominated by teams from South Tipperary, with Fethard and Clonmel Commercials leading the roll of honour, though Loughmore-Castleiney from Mid Tipperary strongly challenge and were the 2014 champions. Kilruane MacDonagh's were North Tipperary's last club team to be victorious in 1975, while teams from West Tipperary have also figured in the honours list, including Aherlow who won their first championship in 2006. Fethard GAA
Fethard GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association gaelic football club located in the medieval town of Fethard, County Tipperary in Ireland. The club is affiliated to the South Division of Tipperary GAA. They have been Tipperary Senior Football champions on a record twenty one occasions. History The Tipperary county footballers that were attacked at Croke Park on Bloody Sunday of 1920 wore the Grangemockler colours. At that time the county wore the colours of its county champions, not having an official jersey. Fethard were the then county champions but, instead of Fethard's blue and white, Grangemockler's white and green was worn instead. Éire Óg Annacarty GAA club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in the parish of Anacarty & Donohill, in west County Tipperary in Ireland. History The Éire Óg club's most notable player of the modern era is Pat Fox, All-Ireland medallist for senior hurling in 1989 and 1991 during which period he was a leading scorer in the All-Ireland and Munster Championships. Aherlow GAA
Aherlow GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in County Tipperary in Ireland, established in 1885, within a year of the GAA's foundation. The club plays Gaelic football at senior (in a combination with a neighbouring club), under-21, junior, minor and underage levels in the West Tipperary Division and all-county competitions of Tipperary GAA. The club also fields hurling teams, and plays Ladies' Gaelic football. The club is centred on the village of Lisvernane and surrounding Glen of Aherlow, approximately eight miles east of Tipperary town. Ardfinnan GAA
Ardfinnan GAA is a Tipperary GAA club which is located in County Tipperary, Ireland. The club, which competes at county level and in the "South" division of Tipperary GAA, is known by its supporters as "the village". The team's home ground is on the main Ardfinnan to Clonmel road (the R665) just outside the village. The club draws its players and support from the village of Ardfinnan and the neighbouring parishes of Grange and Ballybacon. Ardfinnan club only plays Gaelic football but the area also has a senior hurling club, Ballybacon-Grange GAA, which is based in Goatenbridge village around three miles from Ardfinnan. Ballyporeen GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the parish of Ballyporeen in County Tipperary in Ireland. The club plays Gaelic football at Senior level as part of the South division of Tipperary GAA. The handball section of the club has also had considerable success. Galtee Rovers GAA, also called Galtee Rovers—St. Pecaun's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the village of Bansha on the National Primary Route N24 in the shadow of the Galtee Mountains in west County Tipperary, Ireland.
