2018 Södermanland Regional Election
Södermanland County or Region Sörmland held a regional council election on 9 September 2018 across its nine municipalities. This was part of the 2018 Swedish regional elections and held on the same day as the municipal and 2018 Swedish general election, general elections. Results The number of seats rose from 71 to 79. This meant that both the Swedish Social Democratic Party, Social Democrats and the Moderate Party (Sweden), Moderates kept their seat numbers in spite of their vote and seat share falling sizeably. The Social Democrats fell the most, going from 33.3% to 28.7%. The local party Vård för pengarna ended up becoming the largest party in both coastal municipalities of Nyköping Municipality, Nyköping and Oxelösund. This was the first time any other party than the Social Democrats had topped the poll in Oxelösund in any election since the location's founding. Södermanland County
Södermanland County (, ) is a Counties of Sweden, county or ''län'' on the southeast coast of Sweden. In the local Sörmlandic dialects it is virtually universally shortened and pronounced as Sörmlands län, or simply Sörmland, which is the dominant pronunciation and spelling inside the county. Vingåker Municipality
Vingåker Municipality () is a municipality in Södermanland County in central Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Vingåker. The municipality has its present size since the local government reform of 1971. Geography Vingåker is an inland municipality but in spite of this has mostly low elevation. Trosa Municipality
Trosa Municipality () is a municipality in Södermanland County in southeast Sweden. The municipality consists of the localities of Vagnhärad, Västerljung, Stensund, Sund and the town of Trosa. The seat of the municipality is located in the town of Trosa. The present municipality was created as recently as 1992, when Nyköping Municipality, which Trosa had been a part of since 1974, was split in three parts. The municipality borders to Nyköping Municipality, Gnesta Municipality, and in the north to Södertälje Municipality in Stockholm County. Oxelösund Municipality
Oxelösund Municipality () is a municipality in Södermanland County in southeast Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Oxelösund. In 1950 the ''Nikolai Rural municipality'' was dissolved. One part formed the then ''City of Oxelösund'', one of the last newly created cities of Sweden. The rest of Nikolai was incorporated into the neighbouring ''City of Nyköping''. Gnesta Municipality () is a municipality in Södermanland County in southeast Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Gnesta, with some 5,000 inhabitants. The present municipality was created in 1992, when Nyköping Municipality (of which it had been a part since 1974) was split up. It is in the middle of the cultural Södermanland province. Flen Municipality () is a municipality in central Södermanland County in southeast Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Flen.
