The 2018 Swedish Open was the eleventh event of the 2018 ITTF World Tour. The event was organised by the Swedish Table Tennis Association, under the authority of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). It took place from 1–4 November in Stockholm, Sweden. Koki Niwa
is a Japanese male table tennis player. He is the gold medalist at the 2010 Youth Olympics and he won the World Junior Table Tennis Championships in 2010 (doubles) and 2011 (singles). On 21 April 2012, he defeated Ma Long of China, World Rank no 1, to become the first player to be qualified for 2012 Olympics from the Asian Olympic Qualifiers. Since 2012 he has been playing for the German Team TTC matec Frickenhausen. He won the 2014 Russian Open singles title. Career Junior career Niwa had a prolific junior career beginning in 2008. Liang Jingkun
Liang Jingkun (born 20 October 1996) is a Chinese table tennis player who is currently world rank number 5 in ITTF. Two-time medalist in men's singles at the World Table Tennis Championships. Career A top junior player with huge potential, Liang made a breakthrough in 2015 when he was surprisingly selected to represent China at the World Championships. He competed in the men's singles event, where he made it to the round of 32 before getting eliminated by his teammate, Zhang Jike. He also competed in the 2019 World Championships where he surprisingly beat Fan Zhendong in the Round of 16 but ended up losing in the semi-finals to Ma Long. 2021 In May, Liang played in the Chinese Olympic Scrimmages. Kristian Karlsson
Kristian Gunnar Karlsson (; born 6 August 1991) is a Swedish professional table tennis player. Career Born in Trollhättan, Västra Götaland, Karlsson started to play table tennis in his hometown club at the age of 8. He remained in Trollhättan until he was 16, subsequently he moved away from home to go to high school. During his high school years Karlsson had 10 training sessions a week. In 2011 he signed to Halmstad BTK and began to rose through the ranks quickly. Ranked outside the top 400 in October 2010, Karlsson finished 2011 in the 233rd position, and at the end of 2012 he ranked 129. The year 2012 also marked his first senior success, winning the silver medal at the 2012 Table Tennis European Championships in men's doubles. Mattias Falck (; né Karlsson) (born 7 September 1991) is a Swedish table tennis player. Career He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics as part of the Swedish team in the men's team event. Mattias won two medals at the 2016 European Table Tennis Championships. Paired with Matilda Ekholm he won a silver medal in mixed doubles, and paired with Kristian Karlsson he won a bronze medal in men's doubles. Marcos André Sousa da Silva Freitas (born 8 April 1988) is a Portuguese table tennis player who has won European Championships in singles, doubles, and team events. He participated at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing where he got knocked out in the Round of 64. In the same year he won the bronze medal in the men's doubles at the European Championship with Tiago Apolónia.
