2018 Speedway Grand Prix Of Germany
The 2018 German FIM Speedway Grand Prix was the ninth race of the 2018 Speedway Grand Prix season. It took place on September 22 at the Bergring Arena in Teterow, Germany. Riders First reserve Niels-Kristian Iversen replaced the injured Patryk Dudek. The Speedway Grand Prix Commission also nominated Kai Huckenbeck as the wild card, and Martin Smolinski and Kevin Wölbert both as Track Reserves. Results The Grand Prix was won by Tai Woffinden, who beat defending world champion Jason Doyle, Bartosz Zmarzlik and Greg Hancock in the final. As a result of winning the Grand Prix, Woffinden extended his overall lead over Zmarzlik in the world championship standings to ten points with just one round remaining. Teterow () is a town of Germany, in the district of Rostock, in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It is the geographical center of this federal state. It had a population of 8,852 in 2011. History The ''Stadtkirche St. Peter und Paul'' (St. Peter and St. Paul's Church), was built in 1215 in Late Romanesque and Gothic style. Matej Žagar (born 3 April 1983 in Ljubljana, Slovenia) is a Slovenian motorcycle speedway rider who was won two Individual Speedway European Champion titles in 2004 and 2008. Career In 2002, he won the 2002 Individual Speedway Junior European Championship and the following year made his debut in the Individual World Championship. He began his career in the United Kingdom with the Trelawny Tigers in 2003 before moving to the Reading Racers in 2004 when the Tigers closed. Andreas Jonsson
Andreas Karl Rune Jonsson (born 3 September 1980 in Stockholm, Sweden) is an international motorcycle speedway rider. He was a member of the Sweden speedway team that won the World Cup in 2003, 2004 and 2015. Career summary Jonsson won Under-21 titles at World, Scandinavian and Swedish levels and won the $100,000 first prize on offer at the 100th Speedway Grand Prix, billed as the 'Richest Minute in Motorsport'. Krzysztof Kasprzak
Krzysztof Kasprzak (; born 18 July 1984 in Leszno, Poland) is an international speedway rider who became World Under-21 Champion in 2005 and won the silver medal during the 2014 Speedway Grand Prix. He also won five World team titles. He is a son of former Polish national speedway team member Zenon Kasprzak. Brother Robert is also a speedway rider. Szymon Woźniak (born 6 May 1993) is a Polish speedway rider. Career He rode for his hometown club, Polonia Bydgoszcz in the Speedway Ekstraliga up to 2015 before moving to Sparta Wrocław for the 2016 season. He rode for the Poland U-21 national team and won the Polish Under-21 Championship in 2014. He was part of the Leicester Lions team in the British Elite League in 2015 and 2016. Craig William Cook (born 21 May 1987) is a British speedway rider. Career Born in Whitehaven, Cook's speedway career began in 2008. In 2009 Cook won the National League Riders Championship and three years later won the Premier League Riders' Championship. He rode for Peterborough Panthers in 2010. He moved on to Edinburgh Monarchs, who he rode for in the Premier League between 2011 and 2015, and was part of the Belle Vue Aces team that competed in the Elite League from 2011 until 2018. He finished second in the 2014 British Speedway Championship and the 2015 British Speedway Championship. Martin Vaculík (born 5 April 1990) is a Slovak motorcycle speedway rider who is riding for the Stal Gorzów Wielkopolski in the Polish Speedway Ekstraliga. Artem Grigoryevich Laguta (russian: Артём Григорьевич Лагута; born 13 November 1990) is a Russian motorcycle speedway rider and member of the Russian national team. He is the 2021 World Champion. Christopher Robert Holder (born 24 September 1987 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian speedway rider currently riding for Lejonen in the Swedish Elitserien and for Apator Toruń in the Polish Speedway Ekstraliga. He became the Australian Individual Speedway Champion in 2008 and followed up with wins in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2014 (he was runner up in 2009) as well as winning the Australian Under-21 Championship in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. Emil Damirovich Sayfutdinov (russian: link=no, Эмиль Дамирович Сайфутдинов; born 26 October 1989) is a Russian motorcycle speedway rider and member of the Russia national speedway team.
