2018 Oregon Ducks Football Team
The 2018 Oregon Ducks football team represented the University of Oregon during the 2018 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team was led by first-year head coach Mario Cristobal who took over for Willie Taggart who departed for Florida State Seminoles football, Florida State. Oregon played their games at Autzen Stadium and competed as members of the North Division of the Pac-12 Conference. Coming off a 7–6 season under Taggart in 2017 Oregon Ducks football team, 2017, Oregon began the year ranked 24th in the preseason AP Poll. 2018 California Golden Bears Football Team
The 2018 California Golden Bears football team represented the University of California, Berkeley in the 2018 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Bears went 7–6 during Justin Wilcox's second year as head coach. The Bears upset #15 Washington 12–10 and defeated USC 15–14 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles to snap a 15-year losing streak to the Trojans, but at the same time, they also snapped a 18-year losing streak to USC in the Coliseum. They lost 10–7 in overtime to TCU in the 2018 Cheez-It Bowl. Bears offensive efficiency ranked as the second worst among all Power Five teams. Tony Brooks-James (born December 6, 1994) is an American football running back for the Birmingham Stallions of the United States Football League (USFL). Since 1990 the Doak Walker Award honors the top running back in college football in the United States. It is named in honor of Doak Walker, a former running back who played for the SMU Mustangs from 1945 to 1949 and in the National Football League for the Detroit Lions from 1950 to 1955. The Maxwell Award is presented annually to the college football player judged by a panel of sportscasters, sportswriters, and National Collegiate Athletic Association head coaches and the membership of the Maxwell Football Club to be the best all-around in the United States. Jake Scott Hanson (born April 29, 1997) is an American football center for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Oregon. Dave Rimington was a center who played at the University of Nebraska from 1979 to 1982. Troy Dye (born September 18, 1996) is an American football linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Oregon. Early years Dye attended Norco High School in Norco, California where he would play safety. By his senior year he had 105 tackles and four interceptions.
