2018 NextEra Energy Resources 250
The 2018 NextEra Energy Resources 250 was the first stock car race of the 2018 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season, and the 19th iteration of the event. The race was held on Friday, February 16, 2018 in Daytona Beach, Florida at Daytona International Speedway, a triangle-shaped superspeedway racetrack. The race would take 100 laps to complete. In a wreck filled race, Johnny Sauter driving for GMS Racing would survive and hold off the field to win the race. To fill out the podium, Justin Haley of GMS Racing and Joe Nemechek, driving for his own team NEMCO Motorsports would finish 2nd and 3rd, respectively. The Fresh From Florida 250 is the first race of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season at Daytona International Speedway and as of 2004 has been held under the lights. It is the Truck Series event of Speedweeks – the series of races leading up to the Daytona 500. Winners of the event include Mike Wallace, Joe Ruttman, Robert Pressley, Rick Crawford, Carl Edwards, Bobby Hamilton, Mark Martin, Jack Sprague, Todd Bodine (twice), Timothy Peters, Michael Waltrip, John King, Johnny Sauter (three times), Kyle Busch, Tyler Reddick, Kaz Grala, Austin Hill, and Zane Smith (twice). Johnny Sauter
Jonathan Joseph Sauter (born May 1, 1978) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes part-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 66 Ford F-150 for ThorSport Racing. He has also driven in the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series in the past. Sauter is the son of former NASCAR driver Jim Sauter, the brother of NASCAR drivers Tim Sauter and Jay Sauter, and the uncle of Travis Sauter. He is the 2016 Truck Series champion. Jordan Lee Anderson (born April 15, 1991) is an American professional stock car racing driver and team owner. He competes part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 32 Chevrolet Camaro (sixth generation), Chevrolet SS for Jordan Anderson Racing.
