The 2018 Mobile Mini Sun Cup was the eighth edition of the preseason exhibition soccer tournament and the first under its new name and sponsor. It was held from February 3 to February 24 in Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona. The defending champions were the Houston Dynamo. The New England Revolution is an American professional soccer club based in the Greater Boston area that competes in Major League Soccer (MLS), in the Eastern Conference of the league. It is one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, having competed in the league since its inaugural season. The club is owned by Robert Kraft, who also owns the New England Patriots along with his son, Jonathan Kraft. The name "Revolution" refers to the New England region's significant involvement in the American Revolution that took place from 1775 to 1783. Cristian Anderson Penilla Caicedo (born 2 May 1991) is an Ecuadorian football midfielder who plays for Serie A side, Club Deportivo Cuenca. Casino Arizona Field, formerly known as Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex, was a 15.8-acre soccer-specific training and stadium facility located in the Salt River Pima–Maricopa Indian Community near Tempe, Arizona. It was the home of Phoenix Rising FC of the USL Championship from 2017-2020. The complex had a 6,200-seat modular stadium with luxury suites, separate training field, and parking area and was privately funded. History The first game at the complex was held on March 25, 2017, when Rising FC hosted Toronto FC II in front of a crowd of 6,890 fans. Fidel Escobar Mendieta (born 9 January 1995) is a Panamanian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Liga FPD club Saprissa and the Panama national team. Alex Muyl (born September 30, 1995) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a winger for Nashville SC in Major League Soccer. Early career Muyl was raised by French immigrant parents in Manhattan, New York and attended Bard High School Early College on the Lower East Side. Kevaughn Frater (born 14 December 1994) is a Jamaican footballer who plays as a forward for USL Championship club New Mexico United. Kino Sports Complex
Kino Sports Complex is a multiple-use sports complex in Tucson, Arizona. The Arizona Diamondbacks and Chicago White Sox formerly utilized the complex's main ballpark, Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium, for Cactus League games each March and had their minor league complexes on-site. The ballpark was also home to the Tucson Sidewinders of the Pacific Coast League for the team's last decade in Tucson, running from the stadium's 1998 opening season to the 2008 season. The ballpark was a temporary home (2011–2013) to the Tucson Padres (formerly the Portland Beavers) of the Pacific Coast League during the team's relocation to El Paso, Texas. Diego Hernán Valeri (born 1 May 1986) is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. Handwalla Bwana (born June 25, 1999) is a Somali professional footballer who plays for Memphis 901 on loan from Nashville SC of Major League Soccer.
