Тhe 2018 Liga 3 was the second season under its current name and 31st third-tier season after the creation of independent football league system in Georgia. As a single two-round competition, it began on 5 March and ended on 6 December. Liga 3 (Georgia)
Liga 3, organized by Georgian Football Federation since 1990, is the third division of professional football in Georgia. Until 2017, when the current name was introduced, it was known as Meore Liga (the Second league). Structure and league system There were 20 teams competing in the league in 2017. In 2019, when Liga 4 was formed, their number was reduced to ten, although after two seasons GFF decided to extend the league to 14 at the expense of two bottom teams from the previous season and two second-placed clubs from Liga 4 While and Red Groups. For 2022 the number of clubs was increased to 16. Seasons run based on Spring-Autumn system with each team playing an equal amount of home and away games against their league rivals. The league operates based on a system of promotion and relegation. FC Aragvi Dusheti
FC Aragvi Dusheti, or simply Aragvi Dusheti ( ka, სკ დუშეთის არაგვი) is a Georgian association football club from Dusheti, currently based in Tbilisi. Following the 2023 season, the team won Liga 3 and advanced to Erovnuli Liga 2, the second tier of Georgian football. History Established in 1954, during the Soviet period Aragvi mainly participated in the East group of Georgian republican league 2. In the 2008–09 season, the team played in the Meore Liga. Shiola Shiolashvili led the team to first place in the third tier. In 2009–10 season the team had the opportunity to participate in the Pirveli Liga next year, but some financial problems made this goal unachievable. FC Meshakhte Tkibuli
FC Meshakhte is a Georgian association football club based in Tkibuli. Following the 2022 season, the club was relegated to Liga 4, the fourth tier of Georgian football system. History Meshakhte participated in the Georgian Soviet league and twice, in 1980 and 1981, became champions. In 1964 and 1976 they also won the domestic Cup. The club spent 13 seasons in the Soviet third division with the following combined results: The success of the club was attributed to the large coal mine industry based in Tkibuli which financed the local football as well. FC Margveti 2006 is a Georgian association football club from Zestafoni, which competes in Liga 4, the fourth division of the Georgian football system. FC Skuri, occasionally also spelled as Squri, is a Georgian football club, based in the town of Tsalenjikha. Currently they compete in Liga 4, the fourth tier of Georgian football. History During the late Soviet times, Skuri was mainly a member of the first division of the Georgian domestic league. After the 1990s the team competed for years in Pirveli Liga, the second division of national championship. Skuri suffered a defeat in the 2014–15 fierce survival battle, although still obtained the right to remain in the league after another club was expelled. FC Sapovnela ''( Georgian:'' საფეხბურთო კლუბი საპოვნელა) is a Georgian association football club from the town of Terjola. They compete in Regionuli Liga, the fifth tier of the national football system. Sapovnela was a municipal club, financially supported by the local municipality up until the 2016 season and by ''Georgian Football Development Foundation'' during the next two years. FC Chkherimela Kharagauli
FC Chkherimela Kharagauli ( Georgian: სკ ჩხერიმელა) was a Georgian football club based in the town of Kharagauli. History Founded in 1982, the club participated the lower leagues of the Georgian SSR Championships until 1997. Twelve years later the team resumed their activities as ''Chkherimela 2009'' and took part in the third division. They gained promotion to Pirveli Liga where retained their place up until 2016. Having been accused of involvement in a match-fixing scandal, Chkherimela were deducted six points, fined and expelled from the competition. FC Odishi 1919 is a Georgian association football club based in Zugdidi, the administrative centre of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti. Being a municipal club, they currently take part in Liga 4, the forth tier of Georgian league system. Regionuli Liga
Regionuli Liga ( Georgian: რეგიონული ლიგა), run by Georgian Football Federation since 1990, is the fifth and lowest division of the Georgian league system after Erovnuli Liga, Erovnuli Liga 2, Liga 3 and Liga 4. Its participants are both professional clubs and reserve teams of higher league members. Prior to the introduction of Liga 4 in 2019, Regionuli Liga was the fifth tier. Structure As the name implies, the league is based on regional principle. Depending on the number of participating clubs, it is divided into several groups. In 2017, there were forty teams allocated in three groups. The next year two zones were created for teams based in Western Georgia and two more for the eastern regions.
