Casa De Las Flores
The Casa de las Flores is a block of flats in the Chamberí district of Madrid, designed by Secundino Zuazo in 1931. The distribution of spaces with its central landscaped corridor has provided a model for architecture students studying the fifties and sixties. It is located on the corner of Calle de la Princesa (Hilarión Eslava, Rodríguez San Pedro, Gaztambide and Meléndez Valdés streets), and has balconies decorated with flower boxes, from which the name of the building is derived. It started airing on the network in 2000 and has run continuously since then. The series continues to be one of the most popular programs on said television station and is currently being broadcast with great acceptance. ''Big Brother México'' is a reality television series based on the international '' Big Brother'' format produced in the Netherlands by Endemol. ''Big Brother México'' was launched by Televisa in 2002. Before its debut, the idea of being watched twenty-four hours a day by a camera was shocking to some in Mexican society. ''La Usurpadora'' (English: ''The Usurper''; international title: ''Deceptions'') is a Mexican romantic drama telenovela produced by Salvador Mejia Alejandre and originally broadcast on Canal de las Estrellas from February 9 to July 24, 1998. It starred Gabriela Spanic and Fernando Colunga, and was based on '' La intrusa'', a novela originally broadcast in Venezuela which was itself a remake of Radio Caracas Televisión's 1971 telenovela ''La Usurpadora'', which starred Marina Baura and Raúl Amundaray. ''Esmeralda'' is a Mexican telenovela produced by Salvador Mejía Alejandre for Televisa in 1997. It is a remake of a famous 1970 Venezuelan telenovela of that same name Esmeralda original story by Delia Fiallo. It stars Leticia Calderón, Fernando Colunga, Enrique Lizalde, Laura Zapata, Salvador Pineda and Ignacio López Tarso. On Monday, May 5, 1997, Canal de las Estrellas started broadcasting ''Esmeralda'' weekdays at 8:00pm, replacing ''Mujer, casos de la vida real''.
