2018 Hank Steinbrecher Cup
The 2018 Hank Steinbrecher Cup was the sixth edition of the United States Adult Soccer Association's (USASA) tournament whose winner is recognized with the title of U.S. National Amateur Champions. Premier Development League (PDL) side Michigan Bucks successfully defended their title. Host selection Veterans Memorial Stadium in New Britain, Connecticut was selected as the host venue for the tournament. Teams Qualification The tournament featured the 2017 PDL champion Charlotte Eagles, the 2017 National Professional Soccer League (NPSL) champion Elm City Express, the 2017 USASA National Amateur Cup winner Lansdowne Bhoys FC and the defending Steinbrecher Cup winner Michigan Bucks. The United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) is a national organization for amateur soccer in the United States. It consists of 55 state organizations as well as national, regional and state leagues. The National Premier Soccer League, NISA Nation and United Premier Soccer League are USASA national affiliates designed to promote a higher level of competition than the state organizations. USASA also affiliates the Women's Premier Soccer League, one of the unrecognized third division leagues below the fully professional NWSL. Elm City Express is a men's soccer club based in New Haven, Connecticut that most recently competed in the National Premier Soccer League. The club's colors are blue and white, and plays its home matches at Jess Dow Field at Southern Connecticut State University. The ownership group of Elm City Express also owns and operates Clube Atlético Tubarão, a Brazilian soccer club based in Santa Catarina, which competes in the lower levels of Brazil's pyramid. David Goldsmith (born 21 September 1993) is an English footballer who is currently a graduate assistant coach for college team the Butler Bulldogs. Bridgeview, Illinois
Bridgeview is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States. It is located approximately southwest of the Chicago Loop. As of the 2020 census, the village population was 17,027. History The earliest settlement in Bridgeview occurred in the 1830s, when the area was still populated by Native American groups. By the 1870s German and Italian settlers began moving into the area for farming purposes. Dutch migrated to the area by the 1920s, at which time farming began to decline; real estate and industry began to develop the area considerably. The National Amateur Cup, also known as the USASA Amateur Cup, is an American soccer competition open to all amateur teams affiliated with the United States Soccer Federation through United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA). In 1923, U.S. Soccer established the National Amateur Cup in response to the growing number of teams entering the open National Challenge Cup (now known as the U.S. Open Cup). Flint City Bucks is an American soccer team based in Flint, Michigan, United States. Founded in 1995, the team plays in USL League Two, the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. The club was founded in 1995 as the Mid-Michigan Bucks, playing in Saginaw, and began playing in 1996. In 2004, the club changed its name to the Michigan Bucks following a move to Plymouth.
