2018 Deaf T20 World Cup
The 2018 Deaf T20 World Cup was the 3rd edition of the Deaf Cricket World Cup tournament, and was held from 23 to 30 November 2018 for 8 days in India and all of the scheduled matches were held in the city of Gurugram, New Delhi. In the final, Sri Lanka defeated hosts and defending champions India by 36 runs to secure their first ever Deaf T20 World Cup title. Five teams including hosts India, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Australia and Nepal played in the tournament. The tournament was hosted by Deaf Cricket Society in India affiliating with the Deaf International Cricket Council. The tournament began with hosts India played against South Africa on 23 November 2018. In the final, Sri Lanka batted first and managed to score 145/9 in the 20 overs after being put into bat by India. India were bowled out for 109 runs in 17.5 overs as Sri Lanka claimed victorious for the first time in a major deaf cricket tournament. Brett Lee
Brett Lee (born 8 November 1976) is an Australian former international cricketer, who played all three formats of the game. During his international career, Lee was recognised as one of the fastest bowlers in the world. In each of his first two years, Lee conceded fewer than 20 runs for every wicket taken, but later recorded figures in the low 30s. He was an athletic fielder and useful lower-order batter, with a batting average exceeding 20 in Test cricket. Lee finished his Test career with 310 wickets, and his One Day International career with 380 wickets. 2018 Blind Cricket World Cup
The 2018 Blind Cricket World Cup was the fifth Blind Cricket World Cup tournament, and was held from 8–20 January 2018 in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. In the final, defending champions India defeated Pakistan by 2 wickets to secure their 2nd Blind Cricket World Cup title under the captaincy of Ajay Kumar Reddy. Six teams, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Australia and Nepal played in the tournament, with Nepal making their first ever appearance. India played all of their group stage matches of the tournament at neutral venues in the United Arab Emirates, after the foreign ministry of India blocked them from travelling to Pakistan. It was later revealed that the Cricket Association for the Blind in India and Pakistan Blind Cricket Council had agreed to shift the Indian matches to the UAE.
