2018 Colorado Elections
A general election was held in the U.S. state of Colorado on November 6, 2018. All of Colorado's executive offices and all seven of its seats in the United States House of Representatives were up for election. Democrats swept every statewide election on the ballot, leaving the at-large seat on the Regents of the University of Colorado, University of Colorado Board of Regents and the Class 2 U.S. Senate seat as the last statewide offices held by Republicans. The American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) is a national trade union center that is the largest federation of unions in the United States. It is made up of 61 national and international unions, together representing nearly 15 million active and retired workers. Leslie Herod
Leslie Herod (born 1982) is an American politician who is a former member of the Colorado House of Representatives. A member of the Democratic Party, she represented the 8th district. She is the first LGBT African-American to be elected to Colorado's state legislature. Biography Herod was born in 1982 on a United States military base in Germany. She moved around much of her early life, as her mother was an officer in the United States Army Nurse Corps. Herod attended high school in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Joann Ginal is an American politician who serves in the Colorado Senate from the Colorado's 14th Senate district, 14th district since 2019, as a member of the Democratic Party (United States), Democratic Party. Before her tenure in the state senate she served in the Colorado House of Representatives from the 52nd district from 2013 to 2019. Mark Steven Ferrandino (born August 9, 1977) is a former legislator in the U.S. state of Colorado and former Speaker of the Colorado House of Representatives. Appointed to the legislature in 2007, Ferrandino represented House District 2, encompassing south central Denver from 2012 to 2014. He is the first openly gay male legislator in Colorado history. He did not seek re-election in 2014, and was the chief financial officer of Denver Public Schools. Adrienne Benavidez (born 1953/1954) is a former Democratic member of the Colorado House of Representatives. She represented District 32, which covered a portion of Adams County.
