The 2018 CAF Confederation Cup (officially the 2018 Total CAF Confederation Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 15th edition of Africa's secondary club association football, football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), under the current CAF Confederation Cup title after the merger of CAF Cup and African Cup Winners' Cup. CAF 5-year Ranking
The CAF 5-year ranking system is used by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to determine the number of clubs that each member association may enter its club football competitions; the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup. At present, those associations ranked in the top 12 may enter two teams into each of the two club competitions, while the remaining associations are limited to a single team in each competition. Criteria for awarding points CAF approved its basic criteria based on the criteria used in the election of the CAF Clubs of the 20th Century in 2000 for awarding points in 2003. This was changed in 2005 with the addition of a criterion that rewards clubs that advance to the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup. The 2016–17 Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 (''Tunisian Professional League'') season was the 91st season of top-tier football in Tunisia. The competition started on 8 September 2016. The defending champions from the previous season were Étoile du Sahel. Esperance de Tunis, the champions, drew the highest average home attendance of all clubs in the league with 11,000. Teams A total of 16 teams contested the league, including 13 sides from the 2015–16 season and three promoted from the 2015–16 Ligue 2.
