2018 Badminton Asia Team Championships
The 2018 Badminton Asia Team Championships was the second edition of Badminton Asia Team Championships, held at the Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium in Alor Setar, Malaysia, from 6 to 11 February 2018 and were organised by the Badminton Asia. This tournament also served as the Asian qualification for the 2018 Thomas & Uber Cup. Medalists Tournament The 2018 Badminton Asia Team Championships officially crowned the best male and female national badminton teams in Asia and at the same time worked as the Asian qualification event towards the 2018 Thomas & Uber Cup finals. 28 teams, consisting of 15 men's teams and 13 women's teams entered the tournament. Alor Setar
Alor Setar ( Kedah Malay: ) is the state capital of Kedah, Malaysia. It is the second-largest city in the state after Sungai Petani and one of the most-important cities on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo
Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo (born 2 August 1995) is an Indonesian former badminton player who was ranked world number 1 in the men's doubles by the Badminton World Federation. Considered as one of the best players of his generation, he won the men's doubles titles at the All England Open in 2017 and 2018; the World Superseries Finals in 2017; and the Asian Games in 2018. He was also featured in the Indonesia winning team at the SEA Games in 2015; the Asia Team Championships in 2018 and 2020; and the Thomas Cup in 2020. Nur Izzuddin bin Mohd Rumsani (born 11 November 1997) is a Malaysian badminton player. He was a silver medalist in the 2024 Badminton Asia Championships, 2024 Asian Championships. Izzuddin was part of the Malaysia winning team in the 2022 Badminton Asia Team Championships, 2022 Asia Team Championships. He won the 2022 German Open (badminton), 2022 German Open in the men's doubles event partnered with Goh Sze Fei, their first BWF World Tour title. Goh V Shem
Goh V Shem (; born Goh Wei Shem; 20 May 1989) is a Malaysian badminton player in the doubles event. He was partnered with Tan Wee Kiong after their outstanding performance at the 2014 Thomas Cup. Together, Goh and Tan won the gold medal for the men's doubles event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games as well as all their matches in the mixed team event, helping Malaysia retain the gold medal for the third consecutive time. Goh Sze Fei ( zh, t=吳世飛, p=Wú Shìfēi; born 18 August 1997) is a Malaysian badminton player. He was a silver medalist in the 2024 Asian Championships. Goh was part of the Malaysia winning team in the 2022 Asia Team Championships. He won the 2022 German Open in the men's doubles event partnered with Nur Izzuddin, their first BWF World Tour title. Tan Qiang (; born 16 September 1998) is a Chinese badminton player. In 2015, he won the bronze medal at the Asian Junior Championships in the boys' doubles event partnered with Ren Xiangyu, and in 2016, won the silver medal partnered with He Jiting. In 2017, he became the runner-up at the China International tournament in the mixed doubles event partnered with Xu Ya. Shi Yuqi (; Mandarin pronunciation: ; born 28 February 1996) is a Chinese badminton player.Shi won his first Superseries title in the 2016 French Open. Lu Guangzu (; born on 19 October 1996) is a Chinese badminton player. He was a silver medalist in the 2025 Asian Championships. Lu was integrated to China winning team in the 2021 and 2023 Sudirman Cup, as well at the 2024 Thomas Cup. In 2018, Lu made into his first final at the Lingshui China Masters.
