2018 Albanian Supercup
The 2018 Albanian Supercup was the 25th edition of the Albanian Supercup, an annual Albanian football match. The teams were decided by taking the winner of the previous season's Albanian Superliga and the runner-up of the Albanian Cup. The match was contested by Skënderbeu, champions of the 2017–18 Albanian Superliga, and Laçi, the 2017–18 Albanian Cup runner-up. The match was held at Selman Stërmasi Stadium in Tirana for the third consecutive year. 2017–18 Albanian Cup
2017–18 Albanian Cup () was the sixty-sixth season of Albania's annual cup competition. Tirana are the defending champions. Skënderbeu won the title for the first time in their history. Ties are played in a two-legged format similar to those of European competitions. If the aggregate score is tied after both games, the team with the higher number of away goals advances. If the number of away goals is equal in both games, the match is decided by extra time and a penalty shoot-out, if necessary. Preliminary round In order to reduce the number of participating teams for the first round to 32, a preliminary tournament is played. In contrast to the main tournament, the preliminary tournament is held as a single-leg knock-out competition. Redon Xhixha (born 14 July 1998) is an Albanian professional footballer who plays as a striker for the Azerbaijani side Qarabağ FK in Azerbaijan Premier League and Albania national football team. . Club career Laçi On 20 July 2017, Xhixha signed his first professional contract and joined Kategoria Superiore side Laçi. Regi Lushkja (born 17 May 1996) is an Albanian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Kategoria Superiore club Egnatia. Club career Early career Lushkja started his youth career at Besa in 2011. Dejvi Bregu (born 24 October 1995) is an Albanian professional footballer who plays as a winger for Turkish club Boluspor. Club career Flamurtari Bregu was first promoted to Flamurtari's senior squad on 12 May 2012 for the final matchday against Laçi. Gjergji Muzaka (born 26 September 1984) is an Albanian former professional footballer who plays as a midfielder. A product of Partizani Tirana academy, Muzaka begun his career as a talented youth player, which prompted Paris Saint-Germain to sign him in 2000. His spell in France was short-lived, however, as he returned at Partizani one year later and commenced his professional career as 17-year-old. Muzaka played for eight years for ''The Red Bulls'', notably winning the Albanian Cup title and also having a brief spell in Greece with Iraklis as a loanee in 2004.
