The Sumgayit FK 2017-18 season was Sumgayit's seventh Azerbaijan Premier League season, and eight season in their history. Sumgayit FK
Sumqayıt FK (, ) is an Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani professional Association football, football club based in Sumgayit, Sumgait, that plays in the Azerbaijan Premier League, the top tier of Football in Azerbaijan, football in the country. History The club was founded in 2010 as Sumqayıt FK. In May 2011, the team secured their promotion to Azerbaijan Premier League after getting wildcard place instead of defunct FC Absheron, Absheron. After securing promotion to the Premier League, the club based most of their squad on players from Azerbaijan's Azerbaijan national football team U-19, U-19 and Azerbaijan national under-17 football team, U-17 players. In January 2012, the club announced that its old name was being restored. Shuvalan FK (, ) was an Azerbaijani football club based in Şüvəlan, Baku. The club was founded in 2005 and dissolved in 2019. The club was renamed four times in its short history, becoming Olimpik Baku, Olimpik-Shuvalan Baku, AZAL and Shuvalan. UEFA is still recognizing the club as Olimpik-Shuvalan at European competitions. Neftçi Peşəkar Futbol Klubu, known simply as Neftçi () or Neftchi Baku, is an Azerbaijani professional association football, football club based in the capital Baku, that plays in the Azerbaijan Premier League, the highest tier of Football in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan football. Ravan Baku FK () is an Azerbaijani football club based in Baku that plays in the Azerbaijan First Division. History The club was founded in 2009.
